As envisioned, this seminar will provide practitioners with an overview of substantive changes to the new DSM, including a brief discussion of issues related to prevalence and reliability of DSM-5 diagnoses. This overview will incorporate an examination of changes in the structural organization of DSM, as well as disorder-specific changes and related rationale for major diagnostic groupings. The proposed new Cultural Formulation Interview designed to help clinicians assess cultural aspects of diagnosis will be introduced.
