Election 2006: What’s at Stake for Kids?
A panel discussion moderated by Amy Nicholls Swanson, Executive Director of Voices for Children of Greater Cleveland, will discuss election issues affecting children and youth. Race & Public Policy in the U. S.
One of the most recognized and respected voices in our nation’s civil rights, gender equality, and social justice agendas, Mary Frances Berry will speak at the School of Law at 10:30 a.m. Fighting for fairness and justice under four Presidential administrations, she led the way as Chairperson of the US Civil Rights Commission. Berry’s vision of social freedom and equality assure her a place in the future agenda of America. This event is co-sponsored by MSASS. Women, Leadership and U.S. Energy
The President of Fisk University and former Secretary of Energy in the Clinton Administration, Hazel O’Leary, will speak at 12:30 in Amasa Stone Chapel as part of the University’s Reunion schedule of events. O’Leary represents the Case-Fisk Partnership which offers expanded opportunities in education and research for both Case and Fisk students and faculty. Defensive Social Work Practice in the Rising World of Litigation
There are many instances in social work where simple answers are not available to resolve complex issues. Decision making is based on the informed judgment of the individual social worker. But, what happens when these decisions are judged wrong by others? Ruth Spencer, MSASS ’75 and LAW ’81, will address the profession of social work from a legal perspective and talk about how to avoid the pitfalls from 3:00 to 5:00 p m at the Mandel School. Kenya Immersion Experience: March 9-18, 2007
