Teams

I was a little nervous about being in teams in this class because I don't know many people since I just changed my major this semester, but I actually really like it. I'm not sure what system was used to make the teams, but it seems to be a good one.
We had quite a few differences of opinions which really got us talking and thinking. I thought about my team when I was reading the appendix for class on Thursday. We really seemed to aviod the 5 disfunctions quite well.

I don't know if it was due to trust or just the fact that everyone wanted to get a good grade, but we didn't seem to have a problem with fear of conflict. We actually had a very long debate as to what our goals would be. There were two main goals under debate and after a good amount of discussion we were finally able to decide on one.
Because of the long discussion we were able to have the whole team commit to the decision which also took out the avoidance of accountability.
Also, when we filled out the budget and decision forms we used our goals to evaluate which options we would deicide on, but emphasized that if this strategy does not seem to be working when we get the results, that we would change things around and try something else.
So, overall, I think the team did an excellent job. I don't think any of us would have come up with the answers we did had we been left to do this on our own.

I had the same hesitation when I was assigned the groups. I didn't know what to expect of the group but it turned out to be better than expected. We also had long discussions as to what our goals were and other decisions we had to make. The way we spent our budget was based on our goals. I think the majority of the groups are basing their decisions on their goals.
