R&D Budget Cutback Worries US Scientists

The US Congress has announced that defence and space projects will account for most increases in the $135 billion federal R&D budget next year. This has created a fear among the scientific community, who worry that the nation, which has traditionally invested heavily in technological growth, is trying to cut edges in the field.
