What Does Cleveland 2.0 Look Like?

Have you tried Second Life yet? I have been participating since late last year. Many libraries have built virtual offices and buildings. I personally have been using it as a tool to communicate and share ideas with other librarians. I have already attended several online conferences and poster sessions within Second Life. It has been a nice networking tool to meet with people from other libraries that do not attend the same real world meetings or conferences as me.

I am excited to see OneCleveland and that Case is leading the way. For more local information, see the following articles:

I took these photos over the weekend.

Brian,

I joined up in Second Life but have had my incompetence in the virtual world completely exposed! The first time I got on, I got the tutorial but before I could complete it, the computer froze and threw me out.

I tried again today after I read your blog post but don't know how to get to the beginner's tutorial or even to the Case sites.

Any quick assistance that you can give me?

Cheers,

Mano

Here are the instructions on How to visit Help Island and Orientation Island.

To find OneCleveland, use the "search" button along the bottom of your Second Life screen. You can use it to find land, people, groups, etc.

If you want to read a really good book and like to have instructions nearby, consider Second Life: The Official Guide by Michael Rymaszewski.
