(This post has been updated as of 2006-01-18 to reflect a new version. Thank you.)

Firefox users can now quickly search the Case University Directory with ease! Go to http://mycroft.mozdev.org/ and type "CaseDirectory" in the "Site Name:" search box. Click "OK" and then restart Firefox. You're good to go!

Thanks goes to Matthew Heimbach for pointing out the old version did not work any more (twice!). If you have the old version installed, installing the above version will replace the old version without any hassle.

The goal of this new website will be to implement moderated and unmoderated forums for various topics that use CAS authentication

The forum software is being based off the open source phorum code. Development is being done on this live phorum installation (therefor, the link is bound to break!).

I am working with the home.cwru.edu "SIS" team to hopefully bring about a new era of home.cwru.edu services. You can expect more on that subject later!

Let me preface this by stating that I am only a Computer Engineer with access to a website with a high Google page-rank. That being said, let me speak my mind.

I think we should lift all tariffs and embargo bans placed on Cuba. You know, that place with the great cigars and impoverished people ruled under my buddy Fidel Castro.

I personally have no opinion as to whether communism is good or bad. However, I do know that no two countries with a McDonald's in it have ever gone to war. Our friendly Southern communist neighbor extended relief help when Katrina struck. What did we gain from turning down such an offer?

Ultimately, I feel that an outward sign of inclusion will go much farther in spreading Democracy and the freedoms it provides than the status quo. Perhaps I am just a hippy pinko softy. At least I am confident that history will absolve me.

ahhhh, god bless asterisk! It's an open source PBX server. Bought a digium Pci PBX card off of ebay for $9. Not too shabby!

I'm still developing heavily, but feel free to call my room and check it out!
(216) 754-7583

The plan is to have it control my room (Control my room!) via voice commands (using Sphynx) and have Festival read dynamic menus.

I'll probably make a perl script to read my blog. super sweet.

Anyone want to hook me up with a software voip connection to the Case VO-IP server. I can hook asterisk up to it...and...call people. joy! That actually might come in handy when i move down to North Carolina this summer...that would save me from purchasing long distance. Otherwise, i guess i'll use Vonage.

Here's the pitch!
Photo.case.edu is a gallery that allows CWRU students and faculty to upload digital photos to personal and public photo albums. Personal photo albums allow CWRU students and faculty to store and view their digital photos. In addition, personal photos can be set to be viewable by all or select CWRU users.

A collection of moderated public photo albums are available for events, topics, and interests and can be viewed by anyone on the internet.

The main page would present random public photos and ways of navigating to personal and group albums. An optional downloadable screensaver for Linux, Mac, and Windows clients would connect to photo.case.edu and display a random public photo images.
