The Bible...a hoax?
So I was reading my Google News and I came across an article about the Pope's visit to Turkey. The article was decent, although the author was very "my way or the highway." In the comments though, I came across a link to this very interesting article.... http://www.hoax-buster.org/sellyoursoul
In a nutshell, the author states that Moses was actually talking to the Devil when he was told to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. This leads to the conclusion that the entire Bible is based on the word of the Devil and not the word of God as has been believed for 2000 years or so.
While this article should be read with a grain of salt, what if the guy is right? What if this whole time all the people claiming to follow God's word were actually disciples of the Devil? The implications of that statement are enormous. I'm not a scholar in Biblical history by any means (I've never even read the Bible the whole way through), but even I can see that the authority of every Bible-based theocratic government in the world would be destroyed. The Pope would have no power, the Kings of old who claimed power from the Bible were clearly wrong, and every single pastor, preacher and evangelist are telling lies.
Scary.
Anyways, I doubt that this would have gone unnoticed for 2000 years until some wacko with a website decided to "discover" it. Plus this article ignores the good stories in the Bible, like David and Goliath (although the author would probably interpret that as him being David and the rest of the "establishment" as Goliath") or even the fact that , in general, the Ten Commandments don't sound like something the Devil would say. Final Judgment: Hogwash...but still pretty interesting.
