HR Evaluations

I am not exactly sure how this is working, but to my understanding our HR peer evaluations are going to be available for each teammate to read. The book says that we need to fill out our evaluations and then hand them into our team leaders so he/she can give back advice. This seems like the dumbest idea in the world. I feel that these evaluation need to be anonymous...

If we are to be truthful on these evaluations, then the best way to do it is to hand them into the teacher, and they can give us feedback. I feel that if I honestly evaluate each member and then they read it, feelings will be hurt. This can cause a great deal of problems within the group. In order for the group to work best together, we have to be able to work together and not argue about why I gave someone a low grade. Maybe we are to do this so that we can work out problems ourselves like the real world, but the real world involves a job and a paycheck. This is a grade; two completely different concepts in my eyes. I would confront someone who is not doing there job in a business because they are holding the group back. I do not want to start arguements in this HR simulation because I feel that someone can do a little more work. We still are able to get the work done with is the ultimate goal. Peer evaluations let the manager/CEO/teacher know how much effort each person has put in. Even though we are going to share these to each member in our group, I will still try my best to be open and honest.

I was wondering the same thing. I agree with you, this doesn't make any sense. The peer evaluations will be completely skewed if everyone is going to be aware of who says what. It's not that my group is having problems and I feel like I need to give people horrible reports, it's just that we cannot expect anyone to be perfectly honest in critiquing other members if the other members will know exactly what is being said. I guess all we can do is to try to be as honest as possible and hope that others will do the same.
