Accounting Recruiting Breakfast
This morning was the Accounting Recruiting Breakfast in Wolstein Hall. Valbona, Emily, and I all walked over from the North side around 8:30 am. I was extremely nervous and felt much better knowing that Valbona and Emily, too, were feeling the same way. We were the first to arrive and began to wait for what felt like an eternity for the other students and the representatives from the accounting firms to arrive. I was really unsure of what to expect. Were they going to ask me specific questions regarding accounting? Or were they going to focus on my time at Case? If so, what am I to do? I have only been here a short time, being that I am a transfer student!! When the reps began to enter, I know I was perspiring!! Something that may have seemed so simple to another student, was really intimidating me! Well, as soon as we began introducing ourselves, I felt the tension ease. All of the reps were exceptionally nice and many were Case graduates themselves. I talked to several about my unique scenario as a transfer student and most to all of them did not seem turned off by that. I took away with me several cards and promises to follow up. I genuinely enjoyed my time at the breakfast and felt it was beneficial to all the accounting students. I feel silly now for ever being nervous!
