Directed at showcasing enhanced and revamped academic programming, the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University will host its first school-wide open house on from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17 at the Peter B. Lewis Building. The event is for prospective students interested in learning about the graduate degree and executive education programs offered at the Weatherhead School.
Dean Mohan Reddy has spent the first year of his tenure as the permanent dean working toward improving and revamping programs like the M.B.A. and executive M.B.A. programs by incorporating new and different learning tools and resources as well as reconnecting with the local business community. The open house will serve in part as a preview for the new programs which will roll out next fall.
"The Weatherhead School is unique in offering not only a premiere M.B.A. program but many other master degree programs in specialty areas as well, all with positive and perhaps unexpected features," Reddy said. "Our open house is designed to show prospective students how learning at Weatherhead can be their best path to achieving their professional and academic goals."
Following a continental breakfast and short introductory program, breakout sessions will be hosted on each of the nine degree programs: M.B.A. (full-time, accelerated, evening and Saturday), Master of Science in Management-Supply Chain, Master of Science in Management- \Operations Research, Master of Science-Finance, Master of Accountancy, Executive M.B.A., Master of Positive Organizational Development and Change, Executive Doctor of Management and Executive Education programs.
The breakouts will be covered in two sessions, allowing attendees to learn about any of the programs that interest them. In addition, faculty, staff and current students will be on hand to answer questions and facilitate discussion during the breakout sessions.
"Prospective students will be able to get individual program information and have a chance to interact with program officers," said event organizer Kevin Malecek, director of the Evening and Saturday M.B.A. Program. "They’ll get to know a little bit about our mission and the exciting things our students and faculty are doing here as well as the new and different parts of our programs."
"It’s a great way to showcase the school and its individual programs,” Malecek said. "And it’s for anyone who is interested in attending the Weatherhead School, be it as a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student. Full-time, part time, evening and weekend, or executive M.B.A., there’s something here for everyone.
"We have had program open houses in the past," he noted. "This event will allow us to tell more people about the offerings here and the great and exciting things we are doing in the local and global communities."
