Where and When to Volunteer during Case for Community Day

Friday is Case for Community Day.

The eighth annual Case for Community Day is ready to take off and help our Cleveland neighbors. Hundreds of students, faculty, staff and alumni will assist campus neighbors and organizations in a communitywide day of service on Friday.

Courtesy of the Cleveland Indians and Business Volunteers Unlimited, all Case for Community Day volunteers will receive two ticket vouchers to attend an upcoming Tribe game. Volunteers can use the vouchers for tickets at any of the following games:  Sept. 23, 24, 26, 27 or 28.

To help you determine where you should be or when you need to leave for your volunteer assignment, the following schedule is a breakdown of the day's planned activities, as well as a reminder about the Campus Social immediately after the day of service.

If you are volunteering, here's what you should do this Friday:

10:45 to 11 a.m.: Check in at the registration table in the Thwing Center atrium to confirm your service project and pick up your T-shirt and receive your voucher for Cleveland Indians tickets.

11 to 11:35 a.m.: Enjoy your free lunch and beverage—courtesy of corporate partner and sponsor, Bon Appetit Management Company—enjoy lunch with other volunteers in Thwing Center's ballroom.

11:35 a.m.: Learn more about Case for Community Day courtesy of opening remarks by Case Western Reserve President Barbara R. Snyder.

11:45 a.m.: Prepare to depart for your service project. Make sure to listen for your shuttle bus information. Travel accommodations are being provided by Hopkins Limousine Service.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Enjoy your service project! At the end of the day, prepare to board the shuttle bus to head back to campus.
4 to 6 p.m.: Stop by the Case for Community Day Campus Social on oval in front of the Kelvin Smith Library. All volunteers are invited to enjoy refreshments.

If you didn't have an opportunity to sign up for a service project, here are some other ways to give back during Case for Community Day:

All campus members are welcome to donate to one of several drives being held as part of Case for Community Day. An American Red Cross blood drive will be held in Thwing Center’s 1914 Lounge and in front of the 121 Fitness Center. In addition, the Staff Advisory Council will hold a Back To School Supplies drive in Thwing’s Atrium.
