President Barbara R. Snyder announced today that she had appointed Bradley W. Fralic as Case Western Reserve’s permanent Controller. An experienced financial administrator and Certified Public Accountant, Fralic had served as interim Controller since October.

Arnold Hirshon, who has more than 30 years of experience in the management of nonprofit organizations, academic libraries and information technology, will begin his new duties on August 16. He also will hold the title of associate provost.

Campbell as Case Western Reserve University’s new Vice President for Campus Planning and Facilities Management, effective June 1. Campbell previously served for five years at Dartmouth College, where he was Director of Planning, Design and Construction.

President Barbara R. Snyder Monday announced the appointment of Marilyn Sanders Mobley as Case Western Reserve University's first Vice President for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity. Mobley, currently Provost at Bennett College for Women, emerged from an exhaustive search that drew more than 130 applicants for the new, Cabinet-level position.

Case Western Reserve University President Barbara R. Snyder and Provost W.A. "Bud" Baeslack said today that Gary J. Simson has announced his resignation as dean, effective at the end of this academic semester. Starting today, Robert H. Rawson Jr. will serve as Special Advisor to the Provost for the School of Law; he will become interim dean once Simson steps down. President Snyder expressed her appreciation on behalf of the law school and the University for Simson's work over the last two years. Under his leadership the law school raised $1.8 million in the first quarter of this year, and this year's entering class has one of the highest academic credentials in the school's history. Simson will remain in his position as a tenured professor of law.

School of Law alumnus named vice president of Government and Community Relations at Case Western Reserve University
David A. Bell, former general counsel of the Arizona State University Foundation in Tempe, Ariz., has come back to Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University as vice president for government and community relations. Bell was an associate general counsel at Case Western Reserve in the Office of General Counsel from 2003-2006.
