Alumni and Friends Increase Support for Case Western Reserve University
Case Western Reserve University's alumni and friends continue to provide generous support for research and scholarship even amid challenging economic times. The university's philanthropy totaled $108.7 million, marking the second consecutive year that the university raised more than $100 million. The amount also sets a new record for the second-highest total in the university's history.

Charles "Bud" Koch, chair of Case Western Reserve University Board of Trustees, and his wife, Katie, have made a $5 million commitment to the university. Their gift will support a capital project to enhance the student and campus experience.

The Cleveland Foundation has made a $1.5 million grant to the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine to support second-phase funding for the Center for Proteomics and Bioinformatics. During an evening reception for Case Western Reserve University's leadership donors at the Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Research Building on May 4, President Barbara R. Mather Park Dedication Set for Wednesday, April 15
In 2008, the Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Association announced that it would gift its endowment to Case Western Reserve University, spread over a number of areas. The campus community will have an opportunity to see one of those gifts in action on Wednesday, April 15. That's when Mather Park will officially be dedicated as the home field for Case Western Reserve's softball team.

Case Western Reserve University has raised $103.3 million in philanthropy during the 2007–2008 fiscal year—the third highest fundraising total in the university's history. Case Western Reserve raised nearly $68.8 million in 2006-2007.
