      <title>Case Western Reserve Law student defuses simulated international conflicts as part of international law workshop</title>

      <description>Noelle Shanahan Cutts, a third-year student at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, was one of 40 law students nationally selected to attend the International Humanitarian Law Workshop in Santa Clara, Calif., earlier this spring. The program, presented by the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) and Santa Clara University School of Law&apos;s Center for Global Law and Policy, is designed to teach law students the fundamentals of international humanitarian law while providing them opportunities to apply what they learned in hands-on simulations.</description>

      <title>Case Western Reserve University School Of Medicine Professor Honored for Two Decades of Pediatric Work in Thailand</title>

Olness, M.D., a professor of pediatrics at the School of Medicine, launched the Rainbow Center for Global Child Health (RCGCH) in 1987 and is recognized as a world leader in the fields of global child health, pediatric disaster relief and behavioral pediatrics. Olness visited the Lao Medical School and Khon Kaen University (KKU) in Thailand to meet with faculty, students and administrators. While there, she accepted a KKU honorary degree from a Thai princess. </description>

      <description>Case Western Reserve University, the city of Cleveland and Cleveland Clinic marked Earth Day 2008 with a joint commitment to corporate responsibility towards the environment, human rights, labor rights and anti-corruption.  The three organizations became members of the United Nations Global Compact today (April 22) at city hall with President Barbara Snyder, Mayor Frank Jackson and  Oliver Henkel, Chief External Affairs Officer from Cleveland Clinic, signing on to support and advance the 10 principles of the compact.</description>
