Treu-Mart Fellows Give Back to Community
The Treu-Mart Youth Development Fellowship provides support and professional development for professionals who work with youths during non-school hours. Case Daily will share a few of the program participants' stories over the next several months. Since its inception in 2004, more than 10,000 youths have been positively impacted by the work of the fellows.

Receive Nonprofit Awards from Mandel Center
Recipients of the 2009 Leadership in Nonprofit Management Award and Organization Innovation Award, presented by the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University, fill special niches in social services and cultural arts in the Cleveland nonprofit scene. This year's recipients are Stephen H. Hoffman, president of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, and the Cleveland International Film Festival.

Recent Graduate Wants to Make Her Mark in Cleveland, Contribute to Region
Emily Fox has no plans to leave Cleveland now that she has graduated from Case Western Reserve University. After three years, she left campus with the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Master of Science in Social Administration (M.S.S.A.), and a certificate in nonprofit management. Fox has lived in the area since the age of 13 when her family moved to Shaker Heights from San Francisco. The recent social work graduate wants to be part of the solution to rebuild the city instead of taking flight to other places.

Janice Eatman Williams wants Case Western Reserve University students to not only become familiar with their academic lessons, but also the cultural classroom that surrounds the university. She is a recipient of the President's Award for Distinguished Service.

Case Western Reserve University Announces Leadership Transition
at Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations
After nearly eight years at the helm of Case Western Reserve University's Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations, Executive Director Susan Lajoie Eagan has resigned effective of June 30. John A. Yankey, the Leonard W. Mayo Professor Emeritus of Family and Child Welfare at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, has been named part-time interim executive director and will serve through December.

Research ShowCASE to Feature Dozens of Interactive Displays
Although Research ShowCASE is known for its hundreds of poster displays, the event also features interactive displays. The Case Western Reserve and local communities are invited to check them out during this year's event, which takes place Thursday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Veale Convocation Center.

Case Western Reserve Students Contribute to Rebuilding Efforts in New Orleans
Have survivors of Hurricane Katrina been forgotten? Not by 20 students from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, the Weatherhead School of Management, the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations. They plan to pick up hammers and nails—a few shovels and hoes—over spring break, March 8-15, when they return to New Orleans to continue efforts to rebuild the city in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Case Western Reserve University Earns 2008 Pillar Award for Community Service
Case Western Reserve University, which offers over 500 community outreach programs for nearly 600 community partners, is being recognized with a 2008 Pillar Award for Community Service. This is the first time the university has received the award, according to Latisha James, director of the Center for Community Partnerships.

National NACC meeting comes to campus this week
The Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations will have the opportunity to showcase its new Bellflower Road building when the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC) brings its spring retreat and meeting to Cleveland. The meeting will take place at the Mandel Center, which is also called home to the international headquarters of NACC.

Professor Steven Feldman to discuss American-Chinese business relations
Associate professor Steve Feldman spent the first part of 2007 in the People's Republic of China as a Distinguished Professor of Business Ethics through the Fulbright Scholars program. He will talk about his firsthand experiences teaching and carrying out international business ethics research in the Far East on Thursday, Feb. 28. "China Lessons: A Fulbright Experience in Shanghai" will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Toepfer Room in Adelbert Hall.

Case Western Reserve University continues legacy of nonprofit education
The new $11 million home for the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University symbolically reflects the nonprofit world's concepts of partnership and community. Established with a gift from the Mandel Foundation, the Mandel Center -- a national leader in nonprofit education -- officially opened its new residence during a dedication celebration on November 5.
