Discipline methods and the termination interview


The guest speaker we had for this class was very helpful. His real life experiences were definatly entertaining and also shocking to hear. I was suprised how a company did not have the right to fire the man who killed his wife. It showed me that life at work and life outside of work was different. It was also helpful listening to Prof. Powley's story about the guy swearing at his customer publicly while wearing his company's logo. It showed me that even though he was outside of work, wearing the company's logo was representing the company.

The several information on the different discipline methods and how the termination interview should be done seemed helpful too. I did not know that it was unnessesary to be personal while terminating a employee.
