Hello everyone. I'm back. This series of blogs will be written on the restaurant industry. Many people are unaware of how important this industry actually is to our economy. For my first post, I am going to start with some pretty interesting facts concerning the business.

There are currently around 925,000 different restaurants in the United States.

The restaurant industry brought in an estimated 511 billion dollars in 2005.

There are around 12.5 million employees in this industry; only the Government has more.

More than 4 out of 10 adults have worked in the restaurant industry at some time in their lives.

The makeup of typical employees is the following; Female-55%, Under 30 years old- 54%, Single- 67%.

Eating and drinking restaurants employ more minority workers than any other industry.

Throughout these blogs I will be exploring the pros and cons of the industry along with other important logistics than make this business so popular and important to the economy.
