Learning Enrichment Academy Program (LEAP)

A program designed to use the resources of selected medical schools as intellectual hubs for upgrading and enhancing the scope of teaching of science in elementary and middle schools. The collaboration between the School of Medicine and Superior Elementary School in East Cleveland has grown to include more than 200 students, some from other East Cleveland elementary schools. Students attending classes after school and for six weeks in the summer are invited to travel to Washington D.C. to tour and to participate in activities at the National Institutes of Health.
