OBESITY Conference: Developing Community Strategies for a National Crisis

Provided an opportunity for members of the healthcare and public health professions, as well as others primarily interested in preventive medicine with an emphasis on prevention of obesity in children and adolescents, to learn current best practices, for obesity prevention and control. In addition, researchers and community organizations had an opportunity to share their projects with others via a afternoon poster session. Also, data indicating the status of the local problem was discussed and area health officials lead a community needs assessment.
