Since the Summer of 2003, faculty from the biology, chemistry, physics, geology and mathematics departments have been working with Cleveland Municipal School District (CMSD) teachers on laboratory and problem-based exercises. Intensive, garduate-level coursework in the summer is coupled with monthly meetings during the academic year to model inquiry-based teaching strategies and strengthen content knowledge in eah discipline. The BioBlitz is one of a series of meetings between CMSD teachers and Case faculty which focus on reinforcing and expanding concepts introduced in the summer workshops.
