Employee Housing Program
The Employee Housing Program provided closing cost/down payment assistance to eligible full time employees at Case Western Reserve University seeking to purchase/renovate a home in the City of Cleveland. By giving Case employees the incentive to buy a home in Cleveland, as well as repair their current Cleveland-city residences, the program aimed to strengthen the community in which the University flourishes. Additionally, the program serves as a retention and recruiting tool. Many people who work at the university enjoy having the ability to walk, ride their bikes or take public transportation to work due to the close proximity to the university. The uniqueness of the program will attract the best job candidates, and keep the best employees at Case. Since 2004, more than $500,000 was invested by the university which leveraged several million dollars of housing opportunities for over 60 employees who became first time home buyers in the City of Cleveland.
