Hillary Clinton is a two-faced racist
Ok... so let me get this straight... Hillary says that racially profiling in airport security is bad... but there is NOTHING wrong with racially profiling a company taking over our ports?
CBS Bush poll favors democrats
In its classic "fair and balanced" tradition, CBS slanted in favor of Democrats its poll that found Bush has a 34 percent approval rating and a 59 percent disapproval rating, an all-time high for a CBS poll.On the bottom of the PDF version of the poll (page 18) it says how many Democrats versus Republicans were contacted.
"Total Republicans" contacted: 272 unweighted and 289 weighted.
"Total Democrats" contacted: 409 unweighted and 381 weighted.
"Total Independents" contacted: 337 unweighted and 348 weighted.
It doesn't get much more blatant than that. I would be curious to see how the question was asked as well. I wouldn't be shocked if that were biased as well.
It is time for the Republicans to use their economic principles
It is time for the Republicans to use their majority. As Republicans, we worked hard in 2004 to get a majority in congress and a Republican president. We were pitched the traditional Republican economics... small government... low spending... less taxes. Since 2004, there has been MINIMAL reduced spending. It is time for the Republicans to do what we put them in office to do... cut spending and cut taxes. They need to realize that it will be unpopular amongst the people who voted democrat. However, the same majority that elected them in 2004 will re-elect them in 2006 and 2008 if they follow through. George Bush is not innocent on this. He needs to put the democrat created scandals behind him and rally the troops. He needs to demand reductions in social programs and other spending. He needs to veto anything like the highway bill that comes to his desk. If the Republicans do not follow their economic principles, 2006 and 2008 could be a lot closer than it should be.
What do polls have to do with what Bush should do?
Everyone is citing these likely biased polls saying that a majority of america is against the UAE owning our ports. Let's give these polls the benefit of the doubt and assume they are correct. So... because a decision is unpopular... Bush has to make it? No... he has to do what is best for the country. UAE is one of the most pro-american arab countries. They are our friend not our enemy. Everyone also seems to be forgetting that WE ARE NOT TURNING OVER PORT SECURITY! We are selling them the port operations... the United States will still be in charge of security!
Report: Dick Cheney retiring after midterm elections
It has been reported that Dick Cheney will be retiring. I don't know how much truth there is to that; however, if true, this could cement the republican victory in 2008. The dems are still standing for the opposite of what Bush does...that's not going to help their cause. Having our 2008 canidate get some name recognition as vice president would greatly help his or her chances in 2008. Unless the democrats solidfy their platform, we'll be looking at 4 more years of republicans in power.

Dominos Pizza owner starts Catholic town in Florida
This is very interesting. It should be interesting to watch the court battles that will surely follow this. It should be interesting if this goes over as smoothly as things like senior citizen communities.

Economists predict economy to roar in 2006
I find it hilarious how the AFB is handling this story. This is a very optimistic forcast... yet... of course... the article has to end with the few negative things presented. They say that there is only a 15% chance our economy will start the downward swing in 2006 and only 25% that it will occur in 2007. The economists are seeing that our economy is resilient. Our forth quarter was weakened by disasters... however the economy has recovered. The economic outlook is excelent. The Bush economics are working.
South Dakota Congress Passes Law Against Abortion
As the South Dakota House of Representatives gave final approval today to a bill aimed at banning most abortions and creating a U.S. Supreme Court challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, Gov. Mike Rounds said he’s inclined to sign it.
It IS likely that this will lead to a challenge of Roe vs. Wade. We will see how constitutional the new justices are. Anyone with half a brain will admit that Roe vs. Wade is legistlation not a court decision. By that, I mean that Roe vs. Wade wrote law... it didn't interpret any law. Even some pro choice people will admit that the Roe vs. Wade ruling is flawed. I really hope this law leads to a challege...
CNN shows liberal bias on democrat gov. story
This blog entry by another conservative blogger points out a very subtle yet rediculously obvious bias in an article by CNN.
Bush is right on the port stance
The more I have thought about this... the more I support our president. This is a capitalist nation. This is a nation that is supporting free trade. We must lead by example.
That said, should we still investigate this company? Yes. We should investigate every company that operates our ports. If this is done, we can keep our ports safe and promote capitalism and free trade.
Mixed feelings on Bush stance
In case you have not heard, George Bush threatened to veto any bill to stop the Middle Eastern port purchase...
I don't know what I think about this. On one hand, this is capitalism. On the other, it is a threat to our security. It is pretty well accepted that there are many ties to terrorism in Middle Eastern Companies. Our ports are vulnerable to weapons imports now. They would be even more so with Middle Eastern control of our ports.
I understand both sides of the story; however, I would have to say that our security is most important here. I think that we should perform a formal investigation of this company to determine the effects of giving them the contract.

Isn't the housing boom supposed to end?
There has been ANOTHER record high set for housing construction in January.
Military action will occur with Iran
While I would much rather solve this with economic sanctions, Israel will not. Iran/Syria is such a big threat. You will likely see Israel leading a charge towards precision military strikes as they did with Iraq many years ago. This truly scares me. Which side would Russia take in this case? You would think they would side with Israel and the US, but that does not seem to be certain at all. Iran has been very enigmatic with it's declaration of weapons. Iran very well could have nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. It is possible that they could use them in response to any conflict. We must be very careful how we take on this beast of a problem.
That being said, Israel will not allow these weapons programs to progress. They are far too close.
Sanctions on Iran could hurt our economy
This cold war with Iran could lead to bad things for our economy. Iran pumps so much oil that this could severely impact our fuel prices.
This is turning into a lose-lose situation.
Option 1) Economic Sanctions - will raise fuel prices and probably not stop them
Option 2) Air strikes - How can we possibly know where all the sites are? This too will disrupt the oil market and raise fuel prices.
$20.99 billion budget SURPLUS in january
This is a good sign for our economy.
The U.S. budget registered a surprisingly big surplus of $20.99 billion in January as strong receipts outweighed spending, a Treasury Department report showed.
The commenter of the day takes a crack at the global warming debate
This is a commenter from my previous post that is worthy of being posted for all to see.
There is no truth in the global warming debate. It's advocates are religious zealots of a kind who will not suffer disagreement from any quarters and immediate attack all nay-sayers as either idiots or pawns of the vast oil conspiracy. Some critics are equally as bad for similar reasons, whereas others have merely become embittered by the vicious attacks of the Global Warming True Believers. Those who back off and truly want more data before forming a conclusion are accused by the True Believers as wasting precious time. The fact that every prediction of vast man-made gloom and doom in all of history has never come about is not considered relevant, because we are so much more wiser, smarter, better, and enlightened than those idiots who dirtied the Earth before us.I’m sick of global warming. The power of the sun is conveniently ignored. The fraudulence of the Mann Hockey Stick is reluctantly acknowledged, and then forgotten and conveniently cited in other works. Deviation from the groupthink is not permitted. Dissention is not permitted. They may well be right, it is possible, but the proof they clamor about does not exist, and the religious zealotry of the movement will make any such proof unlikely to be found and very difficult to believe should it be found.
I would really like to know whether 1. the world is warming and whether 2. mankind is having any significant effect on this. My guess is yes to #1 and nope to #2, but it's only a guess. I'm waiting to be informed by someone who isn't foaming at the mouth. I probably will never know for sure. When I was born, we were all being told the world would be facing mass starvation right now. Didn’t happen. I wonder what the fear de-jour will be when I’m old?
Scientist Predicts mini Ice Age
This scientist has said that he believes that there will be an ice age in about 6-7 years. This conflicts with the widely accepted global warming theory. This prediction is also based on the sun, not greenhouse gasses. This is proof that there are too many variables to make an accurate prediction.
Dems = culture of corruption (using their own terms against them)
So... It's now coming out that indian tribes gave to Reid after hiring Abramoff.
Reid received more than $50,000 from four tribes with gaming interests between 2001 and 2004 after they hired Abramoff. The Nevadan had received no money from those tribes before then.

Condoleezza Rice to attend Super Bowl
1/31/2006, 8:54 p.m. ET
The Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's travels usually take her to far-flung capitals, but this weekend she's planning a journey closer to home and close to her football fan's heart.
Rice says she will attend Super Bowl XL in Detroit, and she's picking the Pittsburgh Steelers to win — even though she doubted the team in its run-up to Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
"I picked Pittsburgh to beat Cincinnati; I have picked against them every game since," Rice ruefully told reporters Tuesday. "I'm not picking against them again."
That's not to say she's become a real Steelers fan. Rice is loyal to the Cleveland Browns.
Rice, who can rattle off football statistics and history with ease, has said she might one day like to be commissioner of the National Football League.
She said she attended one previous Super Bowl, in 1985, when she was teaching at Stanford and the game between the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers was in Palo Alto, Calif.
Fair Press?
This is one of the most liberally biased articles I have ever seen.
