If Ronald Reagan were black, his name would be Ken Blackwell
“In order to spur economic growth we need to put the brakes on out of control spending and lower Ohioans tax burden.”
FINALLY, the Republicans have put up a true conservative up for election in Ohio. Ken Blackwell is the most powerful candidate for governor in recent times. He brings to the table Reaganomics as well as all of Reagan's other principals.
Ken Blackwell is essentially a black Ronald Reagan. Ken pulled 40% of the black vote in the last election. While I doubt his numbers will be as high this time around, he could pull a significant percentage. He stands for everything that is beneficial to minorities and the rest of the state of Ohio, family values and a strong economy. Blackwell could continue the process started by Bush of bringing the Black vote towards the Republicans as he can relate to them very well. This is key to the future of conservative politics.
He has an excellent plan to encourage more responsible spending in schools. He has devised a plan that would require schools to spend at least 65% of their budget on the classroom. Research has shown that this will create jobs and improve quality of education without even though it involves no tax increase.
Ken Blackwell WILL LOWER TAXES. The most visible will be reducing the sales tax back to its pre-Taft levels. This 20% increase in sales tax should be repealed for more responsible spending can more than make up for this tax. This along with his THREE other tax decreases will help to jump start the stagnant Ohio economy.
What does Ken Blackwell bring to the table? Blackwell brings true conservative politics that would make the greatest president in recent times, Ronald Reagan, jump for joy. He would continue the conservative movement that has been fairly stagnant recently. He would reduce taxes and bring Ohio's economy into the 21st century. Ken Blackwell’s policies will make the poor AND the rich richer. Ken Blackwell has the political knowledge necessary to make Ohio the greatest state in the union.
Below are excerpts from kenblackwell.com
Blackwell's Plan for education:
In an effort to improve Ohio schools’ classroom performance, Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell joined First Class Education National Advisory Chair Patrick Byrne in announcing the start of an Ohio effort to enact what’s been called “The 65 Cent Solution.” The proposal would require every Ohio school district to spend at least 65 cents of each education dollar on “in the classroom” instruction, increasing classroom spending by more than $1.2 billion statewide without a tax increase.Research shows classroom expenditures are a five times better indicator of academic improvement than overall spending. By requiring school districts to allocate a minimum of 65% of operational budgets to the classroom, we can increase classroom instruction by over $1.2 billion a year without a tax increase. That’s enough to purchase a new computer for every Ohio student or hire 24,000 additional teachers with a starting salary more than $40,000.
According to a June 2005 report by the National Center for Educational Statistics, the Federal clearing house of education research, Ohio ranks a dismal 47th nationally, with only 57.4% of education money reaching Ohio’s classrooms.
Support for the First Class Education proposal -- dubbed “The 65 Cent Solution” by syndicated columnist George Will – has grown into a national movement in the six months since its February 2005 unveiling. Louisiana and Kansas have both passed “65 cent legislation” and Texas Governor Rick Perry has signed an Executive Order enacting the 65 Cent Solution. Citizen ballot initiatives are in the works in Arizona, Colorado and Washington. Legislative referrals to the ballot are under consideration in more than an additional half-dozen states. According to a study by the Independence Institute of Colorado comparing education spending in all 50 states with National Assessment of Education Progress 4th and 8th grade test scores, the percentage of money reaching the classroom was a five times greater determinant of increased test scores than the total amount of money spent. Blackwell and Byrne will work together over the next several months to create a strategy to give Ohio voters the opportunity to pass the 65 Cent Solution in November 2006, whether by legislative referral or citizen petition. First Class Education estimates that voters in approximately a dozen states will have the opportunity to vote for The 65 Cent Solution on November 2006 ballots. Polls conducted in 10 states consistently showed overwhelming voter approval of the requirement that school districts spend a minimum of 65% of their education operational budgets on classroom instruction, with support ranging from 72% to 92%. This will give students a chance for a better education so they can compete in today’s global marketplace.
Specifics of First Class Education’s “The 65 Cent Solution”
Every school district shall achieve a minimum of 65% of their budget being spent on “classroom instruction” using the National Center for Educational Statistics definitions.
School Districts that currently fall below the 65% goal shall be required to increase that percentage by a minimum of 2% a year until the 65% goal is met.
School Districts would be required to send their annual proposed budgets to the Governor verifying that the 65% goal or 2% annual improvement is being made.
School Districts that believe they can neither meet the 65% goal nor 2% annual improvement may petition the Governor for a renewable one-year waiver along with their proposal of what can be achieved toward reaching the 65% goal.
The Governor shall have 30 days to either deny or grant the one-year waiver or grant a partial one-year waiver short of the 65% goal or 2% annual increase.
The Legislature will have the opportunity to determine what action may be taken if School Districts do not comply with the requirements.

Blackwell on the economy:
We need more jobs. Ohio was ranked 47th in job creation in 2005. This is the greatest challenge facing our state today. We need to change the way we do business if we want to spur economic growth.Government does not create wealth. Entrepreneurs, individuals and families are the ones who take risks, innovate, create, and grow our economy. Ohio needs to create a pro-job, pro-growth, business friendly environment in order to rebuild our economy.
Ronald Reagan once said that the status quo was Latin for "the mess we are in".
The status quo is destroying Ohio’s economy. Out of control tax and spend policies have created the mess we are in.
What the State government has imposed on Ohioans is a travesty.
In the last ten years our state budget has increased by 71% and thrown our economy and its citizens into economic turmoil. Ohio leads the nation in increased government spending.
The current fiscal policies have failed. Ohio has moved from eleventh to the third most tax burdened state in the union. And it’s getting worse! The latest budget raises taxes $4.24 billion and claims to be tax reform because in four years, Ohioans will receive $1.96 billion in tax decreases.
This is not tax reform. This maintains the status quo and we need a change.
A recent state budget, approved by the legislature and Governor Taft, included the second largest tax increase in Ohio’s history. These types of tax and spend policies, which smother job growth, are supported by my Republican challenger.
The out-of-control spending of the state government has to stop.
Blackwell on taxes:
In a restrained and responsible government spending model, these are the tax policies Ken Blackwell is proposing:First, over a four year period, Ken Blackwell would convert our income tax to a single rate system, with the target rate of 3.25%. This will simplify the tax structure and be a more growth oriented approach. This will also have the added benefit of reducing tax on capital gains, which Ohio treats as regular income.
Second, we will eliminate the stand alone estate tax. In conjunction with this elimination, we will increase the definition of residency for tax purposes from the current 120 days to 180 days or more. This will put Ohio in a much more competitive position.
Third, Ken Blackwell will keep the promise made and repeal the sales tax increase so we return to a 5% sales tax rate. Ken Blackwell has led the charge to repeal the 20% increase in the sales tax while both Ken Blackwell's opponents supported the tax increase. It was sold to the public as temporary tax but a portion is now being made permanent.
Fourth, we must exempt energy consumption from the Commercial Activity Tax (CAT).
Economy grows at 5.6%!
Amid implication that the economy is not growing anymore, the GDP is up by 5.6%, the biggest gain in 2.5 years. People need to realize that one cannot say the economy is bad because the unemployment level has not dropped. The natural unemployment rate is around 5% in the US. In a healthy US economy, there is an unemployment rate around 5% as there is right now. Basically, there are always people between jobs. Once one dips below the natural unemployment rate, inflation will take over. That is one reason why we are seeing some mild inflation right now. We have reached that threshold of natural unemployment. Everyone is looking for the “boom” of the 90’s. That is not good for the long term. A healthy unemployment rate around 5% will ensure long term economic prosperity.
Why is it we have to speak english?
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a Naval conference that included admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a group of half dozen or so officers that included personnel from most of the countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked:
"Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?"
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: "Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German."
Suddenly the group became very quiet.
The New York Times should be probed
This is ridiculous. The New York Times has shown another one of our cards to the enemy and no one at the paper seems to care. At what point does advancing their anti-Bush agenda become treason? They keep on revealing our means of catching terrorists. All of those responsible should be thrown in jail. We all know they want Bush out of office by any means possible... but no one would have thought they would aid the enemy of America that is trying to destroy us while trying to accomplish just that. Something needs to be done to stop the Benedict Arnold Times.
Full rights for NONCITIZEN enemy combatants…. No rights for the heroes of our military.
This has been bothering me SO MUCH! Why is it that McCain and all the liberals stand up and fight for the RIGHTS OF THE TERRORISTS!?!?!?! However, when our own citizen, our own MARINES who have rights entitled to them by the constitution of the United States of America are having their right violated... hear nothing but crickets? Where is the ACLU? Are they not supposed to defend the rights of people? The liberals live such a double standard. Full rights for NONCITIZEN enemy combatants…. No rights for the heroes of our military.

Kerry out of touch with reality
here is the language from his cut and run in Iraq bill:
Kerry Amdt. No. 4442; To require the redeployment of United States Armed Forces from Iraq in order to further a political solution in Iraq, encourage the people of Iraq to provide for their own security, and achieve victory in the war on terror.
Victory in the war on terror and cutting and running in the same statement… you have got to be kidding me….
Doesn't he realize that if we cut and run in Iraq, the terrorists get a major victory in the war on terror. Pulling out now would be like quitting a baseball game when you are up by 10 runs in the bottom of the ninth even with Bob Wickman on the mound. This war is almost over... we are nearing victory. The Iraqi army is not trained enough to fight off the insurgents on their own YET. If we pull out now, the government will likely lose its authority and a stateless regime would ensue. This is the ideal safe haven for terrorists. How is a safe haven for terrorists a victory in the war on terror? I'm sorry... I don't want Somalia the second (the result of Clinton's cut and run strategy).
HELP STOP GLOBAL WARMING! BECOME A PIRATE!

I am very concerned about this study... I might need to become a pirate to save the world.
While on the topic of the environment... why does the government have to regulate environmental standards? Why should it be their job? If the people who spend money lobbying congress on these green issues would just apply that to taking action themselves, we'd be a lot better off.
Lack of reporting of WMD find is unacceptable
I cannot believe that on a day where we find out that Iraq DID HAVE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION... here are the headlines:
CNN.com: Wildfires
MSNBC.com: Afghan leader bashing US
ABC news: US Troops facing Murder Charges
nytimes.com: G.O.P. Decides to Embrace War as Issue
latimes.com: Deal Puts Mayor on Verge of Major School Control
None of these news sites even MENTION that the justification for the Iraq war was NOT BASED LIES as Bush has been accused of. In fact, the WMDs WERE FOUND! That shows that the justification was based on the truth!
It is not like this story fails to come from a credible source. The AFP has reported it.
Congress to revisit line item veto
FINALLY congress is doing something to control itself. For years... little tacked on earmarks to laws have caused irresponsible spending because the president could not veto an entire law in most cases if he felt those earmarks were irresponsible. Congress now has a plan to follow through with one of the main issue in "The Contract With America," the line item veto. Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan has figuired out a way to make it work. If this passes, this will lead to much more responsible spending in Congress. The President will be able to hold the Congress accountable for the little earmarks they continue to sneak into bills.
Today the House is scheduled to revisit the line-item veto, which Congress first passed in 1996 pursuant to its "Contract With America" commitment. (Two years later the Supreme Court struck it down on constitutional grounds because it "impermissibly upsets the balance of powers [between Congress and the president] so carefully prescribed by its Framers.") Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, the sponsor of the Legislative Line Item Veto Act of 2006, insists it is constitutionally "airtight" because Congress would retain the final say on the relevant legislation. With the support of four Democrats, it passed the House Budget Committee earlier this month on a bipartisan 24-9 vote. Under Mr. Ryan's bill, after signing appropriations acts and tax and entitlement legislation, a president would have 45 days to propose canceling various line items in the bills. For each bill, the president could establish up to five veto packages (or 10 packages for an omnibus reconciliation bill). Congress could not amend the packages or divide them into subsets. Nor could the Senate filibuster the consideration of a package. Congress would have to vote on each package of cancellations within 14 legislative days after the president submitted it. Whereas the 1996 line-item veto required each body of Congress to override the president's line-item vetoes with two-thirds majority votes, the new law requires only a simple majority vote to reject a package of cancellations proposed by the president. There is a six-year sunset provision for the bill.
WMDs found in Iraq
Ok... first we find out that there were ties with Iraq and Al Qaeda... now we find out there actually WERE weapons of mass destruction. You libs still think this war wasn't justified? It was a terrorist regime with chemical weapons. That seems to be justification to me.
Conservative Republicans strong stance on amnesty appears to be paying off
"I think it is easy to say the first priority of the House is to secure the borders," added Rep. Roy Blunt, the GOP whip.
"There will be no path to citizenship," said one lawmaker who attended a strategy session in Hastert's office.
[a poll said] when asked if they favor a comprehensive approach or a security-first bill that "under no circumstances" allows for citizenship, 43 percent said they prefer focusing on the border, and 33 percent picked overall reform.
Conservative Republicans are standing strong against the pressure to spit on the laws of our land by passing the Senate immigration bill. Now leaders are saying that it is unlikely that the comprehensive bill that throws our sovereignty and our laws right out the window is not likely to make it through conference. It looks like the conservatives who stood strong against the liberals (both Democrats and Republicans) are making a difference. In order to ensure conservative victory on this issue, I encourage you to write to your senator or your representative via email. It is necessary for the good of our country that the amnesty provisions are dropped. We are winning. Keep up the strong opposition.
ACLU disallows freedom of speech and religion
Ann Coulter is right when she says that the ACLU (Aging Communist Liberals Union) and the democrats want America to be “Godless.”
She knew her speech as valedictorian of Foothill High School would be cut short, but Brittany McComb was determined to tell her fellow graduates what was on her mind and in her heart. But before she could get to the word in her speech that meant the most to her -- Christ -- her microphone went dead. AdvertisementWhy would that perception exist? Was she chosen to speak based on the content of her speech? NO! She was chosen based on the fact that she was valedictorian! The school was sponsoring. Why is it that school principals can preach their left wing views… but a student who earned her right to speak at commencement can’t even speak what is in her heart. The decision to cut short McComb's commencement speech Thursday at The Orleans drew jeers from the nearly 400 graduates and their families that went on for several minutes.
However, Clark County School District officials and an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union said Friday that cutting McComb's mic was the right call. Graduation ceremonies are school-sponsored events, a stance supported by federal court rulings, and as such may include religious references but not proselytizing, they said.
They said McComb's speech amounted to proselytizing and that her commentary could have been perceived as school-sponsored.
This “sepeartion of church and state” argument is out of hand. When will people realize that “separation of chuch and state” does not mean “absence of religion in the state.” By letting one valedictorian speak what is in her heart, what gave her the drive to succeed, and what gave her the ability to succeed, the state is not endorsing a religion.
No matter how hard the ACLU tries, they will not be able to change the fact that our nation’s history and culture is full of Christianity. It is also full of other religions. Our forefathers would never have dreamed of someone’s speech being censored because of its religious content. It is likely that they would cite two things in the bill of rights that the ACLU often “fight to defend” in their argument. In America, we have FREEDOM OF SPEECH. In America, we have FREEDOM OF RELIGION. If the left wants to defend those rights, then defend those rights. Don’t defend them only when it’s convenient for your base.
I’m a Christian…would it bother me if the valedictorian of my high school class gave a speech on how the religion of Islam or Judaism gave him or her the power to succeed? No I would not, because we have been guaranteed freedom of religion and freedom of speech in this country. A graduation speaker can say what wants to say and what he or she believes in, but I can still believe what I want to believe.
Documents show Iraqi ties to 911
I don't understand why this is not getting more press, but documents discovered show the links between Sadaam and Al Qaeda.
Details of Atta's visit to the Iraqi capital in the summer of 2001, just weeks before he launched the most devastating terrorist attack in U.S. history, are contained in a top secret memo written to Saddam Hussein, the then Iraqi president, by Tahir Jalil Habbush al-Tikriti, the former head of the Iraqi Intelligence Service. The handwritten memo, a copy of which has been obtained exclusively by the Telegraph, is dated July 1, 2001 and provides a short resume of a three-day "work programme" Atta had undertaken at Abu Nidal's base in Baghdad.
In the memo, Habbush reports that Atta "displayed extraordinary effort" and demonstrated his ability to lead the team that would be "responsible for attacking the targets that we have agreed to destroy".
How about being responsible for the deaths of 3000 of our INNOCENT citizens in an act of war on our own soil? Is that good enough justification for invasion? Everyone seems to have no problem with the invasion of Afghanistan. How is Iraq any different? It has come out that there are terrorist ties to Iraq. I don't understand why the liberals keep on saying that there are no links. That is just a straight up lie. Anyone who says our invasion was not justified needs to open their mind and look at the facts. Is anyone going to argue that Zarqawi isn't in Al Qaeda? I don't think so. He was part of Sadaam's inner circle. It is obvious that Iraq was a terrorist regime.
149 democrats vote to cut and run in Iraq
Even as victory in Iraq is ensured by the removal of Zarqawi... 149 democrats invest in defeat of America. They voted for IMMEDIATE withdrawal of troops from Iraq giving a victory to Al Qaeda. They want us to lose a war that we are on the brink of winning. This would be like quitting in the bottom of the 9th inning while your team is up by 20 runs. This vote has made 3 things clear:
1) Democrats are investing in defeat in Iraq. They want us to lose so that Bush looks bad. Let's face it... we are winning and will get a complete victory in Iraq. That is almost certain now. However, they still want to pull out and accept a defeat. REDICULOUS! If baseball teams took this strategy, the Kansas City Royals would be undefeated.
2) Democrats are weak on terrorism. They don't see that Iraq is the front line in the war on terrorism. If you let the Islamic extremists win in Iraq, it will only embolden them. If we stand our ground, the terrorists will suffer a huge defeat. A victory sends the message out to the whole world that if you are a terrorist trying to harm the United States of America... WE WILL DEFEAT YOU! A victory in Iraq sends the message that we will not stand down to terrorists. This will counter the attitude that developed when Clinton pulled out of Somalia. Terrorists will understand that when a Republican is in office the United States of America will not accept defeat when Americans are killed. This makes this clear that only Republicans are strong enough to do something about the attitude that has been fueling terrorism since Somalia.
3) The Democrats are still living in a pre 9-11 world. They did not learn from Bill Clinton's mistake in Somalia. They still fail to grasp the simple concept that if Islamic extremists think they can push us around, they will push us around. As we continue win in Iraq, it will send the message that if you push us around, we will do something about it. You can expect two 500 pound bombs to be dropped on your house.
Democrats are not fit to battle the Islamic extremists. Even if you don't believe in Bush's economic or social policies, believe this: with George Bush, or any other Republican in office. We will win the global war on terrorism. We will be able to live safely.
Handover of security to Iraqi forces begins!!!!!!
The first handover of security responsibilities to Iraqi forces is set to go ahead next week, the first concrete step towards the withdrawal of coalition troops.
For all you doomsday democrats out there... you better find something else to be pessimistic about. It is clear that we are winning in Iraq. Iraq will be a Middle Eastern democracy whether you like it or not. I'm sorry... Bush handled this well.
1) Zarqawi is dead along with hundreds of other top jihadist leaders.
2) The handover of security efforts has begun.
3) The Iraqi people support the new government in greater percentages than the citizens of the United States do.
4) The people of Iraq and even IRAN are rejecting the Islamic jihadists/terrorists in Iraq.
5) The mass genocides of the Baathist regime will ever occur again in Iraq.
6) The Iraqi people are free.
7) We have shown the terrorists that we will not back down and we will defeat them.
20 years down the road when all of the partisan politics of this era have settled down, Bush's presidency will be looked upon as one of the greatest in recent times. He will be known as the president who swung the momentum in the war against Islamic extremists.
America Needs Newt Gingrich
The United States of American needs Newt Gingrich as president. In an era where Republicans spend and grant amnesty to illegal aliens, a strong voice that is not afraid to stand on CONSERVATIVE principals is needed. America needs someone who will not be swayed by the inherent liberalism in Washington DC. We need a president who will transform the United States into something it has not been since before the social program explosion under FDR. The United States is losing its sovereignty and its capitalist markets. Newt Gingrich can save the nation from its path to socialism.
Newt Gingrich has confidence in his conservative principles. This is very important because he will not be swayed by the liberalism that is infecting the Republican Party. No matter what the polls say, he will stick with his principles. Conservative principles will improve our country. He is a remaining prodigy from the rise of conservatism in America started by Ronald Reagan. He is perfectly suited for the second step in the rising of conservatism.
There is a majority for Republicans in both houses of Congress and a conservative base waiting for a strong leader to lead the charge for conservative legislation. George Bush is not that answer. Newt Gingrich is a proven leader. We can all recall the Republican Contract With America. This was an outlined plan that stated the clear goals of what can be accomplished with a Republican majority. This plan can be revised with modern conservative ideas like social security privatization. Newt Gingrich showed in his original “Contract With America” that he could lead the conservatives to accomplish conservative goals. This is important right now because we have a Republican majority in all branches of the government and somehow we do not have a conservative majority when it comes to voting.
With Newt Gingrich as president, we will see the return to return of the Reagan conservative plan. He would reduce spending in expendable areas of the government. With spending cut, the deficit will disappear and there will be room for more tax cuts. This is necessary for our economy to stay competitive on a global market. We will also see a continued effort to put constitutionalists on the Supreme Court. We will see the privatization of Social Security which will give those of my generation a chance to build up for retirement. This could serve as a step towards to the eventual elimination of the program. We will see continued military support. We will see less government, less taxes, a strong military, more victories in the war on terror, no legislating from the Supreme Court, and a tough stance on immigration.

KENNEDY PLEADS GUILTY TO DUI AND OTHER CHARGES
Another blow to the democrats... The hits just keep on coming. This is not a good few weeks for them:
Rep. Patrick Kennedy [Democrat] has reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of prescription drugs in connection for his middle-of-the-night car crash last month near the U.S. Capitol.
Two additional charges of reckless driving and failure to exhibit a driving permit will be dismissed under the plea agreement reached with prosecutors.
It seems that the culture of corruption label was put on the wrong party. The dems have a culture of corruption.
Let's compare:
Republicans:
1) Delay - broke a law that didn't exist yet at the time of the crime
2) Rove - wait... no charges
Dems:
1) Congresswoman assaults police officer
2) William Jefferson takes bribe and FBI finds it in his freezer
3) Kennedy guilty of DUI
So we have a "culture of corruption" in the republican party that doesn't actually exist unless if you make it up (which the dems and their allies in the media have tried to do)
An interesting little note... this article makes no reference to the fact that he is a democrat... the part in brackets has been added.
Reuters at it again!!!!

I would say I can't believe it... but I can. Reuters is showing their true colors once again. On a glorious day for Karl Rove and the Bush white house where Rove is told he is not being indicted on any charges, Reuters still can't let it go. They still are trying to advance their liberal agenda. Their blind hatred for Bush and willingness to press it on their readers is disgustingly irresponsible.
Iraq WAS tied to terrorism prewar
Maybe everyone forgot.... Zarqawi who is part of Osama's network... was involved with Iraq in the prewar times. The media keeps trying to deny it... but they can't do it without warping the truth.
According to AP reporter Patrick Quinn's account, then-Secretary of State Colin Powell's Feb. 5, 2003, presentation to the U.N. Security Council, in which he cited Zarqawi's presence in northern Iraq as proof of Saddam Hussein's links with al Qaeda, was "later debunked by U.S. intelligence officials." Mr. Quinn was wrong, as Mr. Powell's statement was actually confirmed by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report. In his remarks before the Security Council, Mr. Powell, (who is not known for pro-war bombast) bluntly informed the council that there was a "sinister nexus between Iraq and the al Qaeda terrorist network, a nexus that combines classic terrorist organizations and modern methods of murder. Iraq today harbors a deadly terrorist network headed by Abu Musab al Zarqawi, an associate and collaborator of Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda lieutenants."
This is no different than Afghanistan. They both harbored terrorists.
They also both had terror camps where people were taught to hate america and how to harm it.
Democrat Congressman promises more money for his district
If Democrats win back control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November, U.S. Rep. Jim Moran said he would use his position in the majority to help funnel more funds to his Northern Virginia district.
I hope all of you realize that more government money means more taxes. Redistribution of wealth... what a ridiculous idea. Apparently the Democrats didn't learn from the USSR that this DOESN'T WORK!!
Witness Says U.S. Troops Beat Al-Zarqawi After Bombing
While the left gets all mad about this... In other new Zarqawi cuts off INNOCENT american's head. As far as I'm concerned, he deserved to get smacked around a little. NOTHING the americans have done is as bad as beheading and innocent person with a rusty knife.
BAGHDAD, Iraq -- An Iraqi man who was one of the first people on the scene after an airstrike that led to the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi told Associated Press Television News that he saw American troops beating a man who had a beard like the al-Qaida leader. The witness said he saw the man lying on the ground, badly wounded but still alive. He said U.S. troops arriving on the scene wrapped the man's head in an Arab robe and began beating him. His account cannot be independently verified.
The spokesman for the U.S.-led forces in Iraq says troops tried to provide medical attention after they saw that al-Zarqawi was alive but he recognized them as American troops and tried to get away.
Major Gen. William Caldwell said the troops "re-secured" al-Zarqawi back onto the stretcher before he died almost immediately.
The two 500-pound bombs that obliterated al-Zarqawi's Iraqi hideout cut a wide swath of destruction.
There are no remaining walls in the house. Scattered among the debris of concrete blocks is a pillow with a floral pattern, sandals, a foam mattress, a cooler and part of a washing machine.
A skimpy slip in a leopard skin pattern and other see-through pieces of women's clothing were also found. Three women were among those killed in the house.

Army meets recruiting goals for 12th month in a row
It's amazing how the left is trying to convince you that no one wants to be in the military because of the war. The contrary is true.
The Army said Friday it surpassed its recruiting goal for May, marking the 12th consecutive month of meeting or exceeding its target.
So much for that theory...
When will the left realize that they are out of touch with reality?
Clinton's Pacifism in Somalia Shows That We Should Stay in Iraq
In light of recent renewed calls for a pull out in Iraq to try and discredit the fact that we just made a big step towards victory, I have decided to republish this article so one can recall why we must settle for nothing less than complete victory.
10/06/2005:
There was something today that President George Bush said today in his speech that really made me think. He cited the battle of Mogadishu, Somalia as a rationale for staying in Iraq until the mission is completed. This battle, known by many as “Blackhawk Down,” was really a pivotal moment in recent history. This fairly unknown battle was the beginning of what is now “The War on Terror.” What if things were done differently? Would we be where we are today as a country? This will be evident after understanding Bill Clinton’s course of action, what he should have done differently, and what would be different if the right course of action was taken.
In order to fully understand, one must first understand the course of action taken by former President Bill Clinton. The date was October 3, 1993 and the plan was to send the two small, elite groups known as the Delta Force and the Army Rangers in to Mogadishu, Somalia to capture two terrorist clan members. This mission was successful. However, success would not be justly associated with this in any other contexts. It was during this mission in which the locals shot down two Blackhawk helicopters full of United States Special Forces. There were thousands of people shooting at our troops. In the end 18 troops died in action. The obvious thing to do would be to finish cleansing Somalia of these terrorists. However, the very next day, Bill Clinton gave into partisan pressure and called off the mission.
This was an enormous misjudgment on President Clinton’s part. This sent out a signal to everyone around the world saying that if they killed any of our Americans, we would falter. This is why Bill Clinton should not have backed off his mission goal, to cleanse Somalia of terrorists. Those 18 deaths were absolutely horrible; however, they were nothing compared to what the number of deaths that the falter resulted in. This clan of terrorists would soon be part of an organization known as Al Qaeda. I believe we all know what they are responsible for. Bill Clinton should have finished the mission and done whatever it took to stop this revolt because to our enemies, this was a sign of weakness. Just like any enemy who detects a weakness, they exploited it. They continue trying to exploit this weakness today; however, now it is no longer a weakness. We are strong and will not falter in the face of terrorism. That being said, resestablishing this strenth has resulted in many deaths that could have been avoided if Bill Clinton had finished the mission.
One has to ask what the world would be like without this falter, without this signal to the world that America is weak. For one, the culture of terrorism would not be spreading so rapidly throughout the world. On October 12, 2000 the terrorists bombed the USS Cole in Yemen. However, Bill Clinton perpetuated his culture of pacifism once again. If Bill Clinton would have stomped on the match before it caught the whole forest on fire, it would have been a lot easier to put out. It is likely that the current war in Iraq would have been over for a long time by now if he had not been a pacifist. It is possible that an authoritative response to these would have discouraged the attacks on September 11th, 2001.
This has lead to a lot of frustration throughout the Republican Party. The Democrats are quick to blame President Bush on everything related to terrorism. Even Bill Clinton himself came out to criticize Bush’s position on the war. The reality is, the fire will keep on getting bigger. Clinton could have stomped out the burning match; however, he chose to let the fire spread. It may not be easy to put out now, but the longer we wait, the bigger it’s going to get. President Bush is doing the right thing to change the culture of pacifism that was developed throughout the Clinton years. Although it will not be easy, we must do whatever it takes to be victorious. We must prove to these terrorists that their efforts are in vain by staying in Iraq until our mission is complete. The moment we leave Iraq is the moment the terrorists win and have an unregulated terrorism breeding ground. We will prove that America is strong, and we will not falter again.
Senator Voinovich votes AGAINST removal of death tax
Senator Voinovich was one of only two Republicans (the other being Chafee (RI)) to vote against the removal of the death tax. Way to show your true colors. Since he is part of my district, I call for a new candidate to run in his place. I am sick of his liberal votes. I don't see how he calls himself a Republican. He is not conservative at all. He is independent at best.
Clear bias in headlines

After a Long Hunt, U.S. Bombs the Leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq - New York Times
Out of Business - Washington Times
A Turning Point In Iraq? - Plain Dealer
After Zarqawi, No Clear Path In Weary Iraq - Washington Post
A reign of terror ends but fighting doesn't - Miami Herald

After Zarqawi, No Clear Path In Weary Iraq... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!???? That has to be the most opinionated headlines I have ever seen in my entire life. Even the New York Times and the Plain Dealer reported only the news today. They kept their opinions to themselves. This is one of the most blatant displays of liberal bias I have ever seen.
Sticking to CONSERVATIVE principles will get politicians votes
The victory by Republican candidate Brian Bilbray in California came down to this: CONSERVATIVE principles. That is the template for success. Hopefully this sends a signal to the McCain’s of the Republican Party. Following the polls will not get you re-elected, following conservative principles will. The issue where this will be seen the most is immigration. If one is running for office as a Republican and one supports amnesty, WATCH OUT! The Republicans in America are overwhelmingly against amnesty. If you McCain Republicans think you represent the will of the people, you are living in an altered reality.
Moderate legislating will not ensure re-election. Let’s face it, most people vote Republican because they believe in small government, low taxes, and respect for our military. If a politician sticks to those principles, one may feel a bit of political heat at times. However, when elections roll around, that politician will be re-elected and the American people will support you.
GOT HIM!
Al-Zarqawi, the ring leader of terrorist activity in Iraq was killed by our US military. This is yet another milestone in the war on terror. This blow to the terrorists in Iraq will lead to less violence. Sorry CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, CBS, and all of you other liberal new sources... you're going to have to report positive news on the war in Iraq. Let's face it. We are making progress over in the sandbox. I know the liberal media will play this off as nothing... follow it with as much negative news as possible... and do whatever else they can to discredit this milestone. However, don't be fooled. This will lead to good things.
Hippie Liberal Soldier Refuses to go to Iraq
As thousands of Fort Lewis Army troops prepare to head back to Iraq, one of their officers is making a stand.A lieutenant says he is going to refuse to go, saying it's an unjust war. Anti-war groups are rallying to his defense.
I would not be surprised if those same Anti-war groups put him up to this. This is clearly another political stunt. It's funny how the few soldiers out of the entire military that come out and scream "THE WAR IS NOT JUST!" all get published. What about the people in the military who are proud to serve their country? Why cannot the press publish some of their stories? The answer is simple. The media have an anti-war agenda. They are trying to harvest all of the liberals who joined the military as they can to try and advance their agenda.
As for this particular case... SUPRISE! He's in the military... he doesn't have a choice. He is going to Iraq whether he likes it or not. If he wasn't up for defending our freedom, then he should not have joined. He is a disgrace to the rest of our military that is proudly serving our country so that all of us can live in freedom. He is simply a man in a uniform trying to advance a liberal agenda. The rest of our troops go to Iraq prepared to die for our freedom. The amount of respect that I have for them cannot even be expressed in words.
Thank you men and women of our military.
MPAA rates movie PG for too much God
This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. This is another step toward the Church of Liberalism. I know a rating is really not the biggest deal in the world, but it stills shows an overall attitude that seems to be spreading. America must be Godless. People say it is what our founding fathers intended... Our founding fathers used to say prayers in congress...
Separation of church and state... that means the government cannot promote one religion. It doesn't mean that there must be absence of religion in everything.
The Examiner outlines lack of media coverage of Bush's victories
This article shows the media's lack of desire to cover good news for Bush.
Bush has quietly been racking up small victories like these that seem at odds with the media’s conventional wisdom of a presidency on the skids. In addition to success with his nominations, Bush also is presiding over a booming economy and is even scoring some foreign policy advances, although Iraq remains bloody.
City of Cleveland ups prices of water
So the city of Cleveland has decided to raise the price of water for the suburbs because usage has gone down. Oh great… now that we listened to all the tree huggers telling us to conserve… we’re getting punished for it. This logic honestly makes no sense. Don’t they realize that the increase will lead to further conservation? That will just lead to nullification of profits. Wouldn’t it make more sense to lower the cost so that everyone uses water more carelessly? How come their costs don’t decrease as a result? You would think that they could reduce the workforce to make up for less usage. What are your opinions?
A sign of a rise in conservatism in America?
As we approach the midterm elections, we are seeing what could be a call for more conservative economics in our government. One of these signs is the recent vote in California. The state turned down a very liberal public preschool tax increase. This plan was going to be accomplished using the socialist/democrat taxing principal of "Let’s tax the rich!!!!"
The ballot measure would have imposed a 1.7 percent tax on individuals with incomes above $400,000 and on couples with incomes above $800,000 to raise $2.4 billion to fund the preschool program.
The signs are starting to pop up all over America. We are seeing a majority of Americans siding with the CONSERVATIVES on immigration (not to be confused with George Bush). We also saw the mentioned voter turndown of VERY LIBERAL legislation. Newt Gingrich, a very strong conservative, won the straw poll for the 2008 nomination.
I think that America is calling for conservatives to stand by their principals. I believe that come 2008, Newt Gingrich would be an excellent choice for the GOP nomination. Newt and Reagan were the two most important people in the GOP takeover of our government. He will not give up any ground to special interest groups. He is a man who ALWAYS stands by his conservative principles. Most importantly, he is not afraid to act on his principles like President Bush. Whether it is popular with the liberal media or not, Newt would not waiver.
DEMOCRAT passes sweeping abortion bill in Louisiana
Gov. Kathleen Blanco was expected to sign a strict abortion ban into law after the Senate on Monday gave the measure final legislative approval.Blanco has said she planned to sign the bill that would ban nearly all abortions in Louisiana
This is really surprising. Who would have thought that a DEMOCRAT would pass such a sweeping ban on the murder of babies? Gov. Blanco... also a democrat... says that she plans to sign it into law. I guess that makes up for her messing up of the Katrina relief.
Could this lead to the overturn of Roe vs. Wade?
I sure hope so. Roe vs. Wade is a crime against the constitution and should be overturned. Even if one does not believe in the right to life, one should still be able to see that applying the right to privacy to the right to kill your child is quite a ridiculous stretch.
Newt Gingrich is the 2008 Presidential front runner
Newt Gingrich is one of the most important Republicans in the last 30 years. It was him and Reagan that started the Conservative Movement in America. Now the Republicans are sick and tired of moderate, John McCain Republicans. In a straw poll in Minnesota for the presidential nomination for 2008, Newt was the clear winner. While many criticize his "baggage" as a tough hill to climb, it is my opinion that he would do an excellent job as President. He has something George Bush will never have, a CONSERVATIVE backbone. He will stick to his principles. He is exactly what the Republicans need. He may not get the nomination, but even running as a candidate for the nomination will pull all of the candidates to the right.
Top Weather EXPERT calls global warming a "hoax"
Dr. Gray is the most respected Hurricane expert in the United States. When you hear of "this year's hurricane prediction," it was generated by him. He has also voiced his disagreement with "Global Warming." He passes it off as just a simple political maneuver:
"Let's just say a crowd of baby boomers and yuppies have hijacked this thing," Gray says. "It's about politics. Very few people have experience with some real data. I think that there is so much general lack of knowledge on this. I've been at this over 50 years down in the trenches working, thinking and teaching."Gray acknowledges that we've had some warming the past 30 years. "I don't question that," he explains. "And humans might have caused a very slight amount of this warming. Very slight. But this warming trend is not going to keep on going. My belief is that three, four years from now, the globe will start to cool again, as it did from the middle '40s to the middle '70s."
"They've been brainwashing us for 20 years," Gray says. "Starting with the nuclear winter and now with the global warming. This scare will also run its course. In 15-20 years, we'll look back and see what a hoax this was."Gray directs me to a 1975 Newsweek article that whipped up a different fear: a coming ice age.
2.2 BILLION Dollars in military aid to Israel?
Officials said the Cabinet decision would cancel or delay key projects not financed by the $2.2 billion of annual U.S. military aid. They said some of these projects had been planned for launch over the next year.
Why are we giving them 2.2 BILLION dollars when we can't balance our own budget?
Iran rejects talks with the US
When is the UN going to apply some economic pressure to Iran? This Iran conflict is showing how useless the UN is. All they are is a bunch of liberals walking around in fancy suits (except for Bolton of course... he's a class act). Remember what happened when the UN didn't want to deal with Osama with any force? Yeah... 9/11/2001... thousands of Americans dead. If we don't deal with this... we'll be dealing with millions of dead in Israel when Iran nukes them.
Reuters shows BLATANT bias in picture of Bush
Reuters shows no class by showing a picture that clearly is an attempt to make President Bush look small and weak. I am not in 100% support of President Bush's policies, but this kind of bias is unacceptable from a source that is supposed to be objective.

Democrat congressmen immune to laws?
Rep. William Jefferson took a large bribe and was caught red handed. The FBI was criticized for searching his home. WHY!? It is a federal matter, so it only makes sense that the FBI investigates a federal crime. Just because he's in congress doesn't mean he is immune to the law. His property is not immune to investigation. Last I checked... congressional offices and homes were in the United States and therefore have to follow the laws in the United States. Separation of powers is the most ridiculous argument I have ever heard. He broke the law!!! Of course he is going to get his things searched. That is the way our country works. It is our executive branch's constitutional OBLIGATION to ENFORCE THE LAWS!
I find the lack of press coverage on this funny. The press made a bigger deal about the Speaker's made up charges than they have about a congressman who got caught red handed. It is biased press. Those of you who can't see it clearly need your heads examined.
2 Rules of Media:
1) Any POTENTIAL or even UNLIKELY Republican scandal must consume all forms of media
2) Any Democrat scandal... despite how damning the evidence... must be ignored and played off as nothing.
