The UN can't handle Iran
I can't believe the UN cannot do as much as enforce their own resolutions. They are blatantly going against a UN resolution. They are blatantly pursuing nuclear weapons. If the UN does not do anything when their resolutions are ignored, what are they worth? Do you think Iran really cares that the UN is upset with them? No... not at all. Diplomacy is only worth anything if it is used from a position of strength. The UN must apply economic sanctions to Iran.
Iranian President: Solution to Middle East crisis is to destroy Israel
Iranian President: Solution to Middle East crisis is to destroy Israel
How many times do the conservatives have to say this before the libs get it? This war is not about land. This war is about Iran's desire to destroy Israel. There is no negotiating with a madman.
Iran has also already rejected the UN offer. It is time for harsh economic sanctions. We cannot let this continue. We must come from a position of strength.
Islamic Extemists vs. Israeli and US troops in a time of war
These pictures show the approach of Israel and the US's soldiers approach versus those of the Islamic Extremists.

House passes strong pro-Israel bill
I am very happy to see that our government is taking this seriously. Their strong words towards Iran and Syria are exactly what should be said.
Condemning the recent attacks against the State of Israel, holding terrorists and their state-sponsors accountable for such attacks, supporting Israel's right to defend itself, and for other purposes.Whereas on September 12, 2005, Israel completed its unilateral withdrawal from Gaza, demonstrating its willingness to make sacrifices for the sake of peace;
Whereas more than 1,000 rockets have been launched from Gaza into Israel since Israel's disengagement;
Whereas in a completely unprovoked attack that occurred in undisputed Israeli territory on June 25, 2006, Israeli Defense Forces Corporal Gilad Shalit was kidnapped and is being held hostage in Gaza by a Palestinian terrorist group which includes members of Hamas;
Whereas Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal, in Damascus, Syria, has acknowledged the role of Hamas in holding Corporal Shalit hostage;
Whereas in a completely unprovoked attack that occurred in undisputed Israeli territory on July 12, 2006, operatives of the terrorist group Hezbollah operating out of southern Lebanon killed three Israeli soldiers and took two others hostage;
Whereas Israel fully complied with United Nations Security Council Resolution 425 (1978) by completely withdrawing its forces from Lebanon, as certified by the United Nations Security Council and affirmed by United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan on June 16, 2000, when he said, `Israel has withdrawn from [Lebanon] in full compliance with Security Council Resolution 425.';
Whereas United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559 (2004) calls for the complete withdrawal of all foreign forces from Lebanon and the dismantlement of all independent militias in Lebanon;
Whereas despite the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559, the Government of Lebanon has failed to disband and disarm Hezbollah, allowing Hezbollah instead to amass 13,000 rockets, including rockets that are more destructive, longer-range and more accurate than rockets previously used by Hezbollah, and has integrated Hezbollah into the Lebanese Government;
Whereas the Government of Israel has previously shown great restraint despite the fact that Hezbollah has launched at least four separate attacks into Israel using rockets and ground forces over the past year;
Whereas the failure of the Government of Lebanon to implement all aspects of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559 and to extend its authority throughout its territory has enabled Hezbollah to launch armed attacks against Israel and recently to kidnap Israeli soldiers;
Whereas Hezbollah's strength derives significantly from the direct financial, military, and political support it receives from Syria and Iran, and Hezbollah also receives important support from sources within Lebanon;
Whereas Iranian Revolutionary Guards continue to operate in southern Lebanon, providing support to Hezbollah and reportedly controlling its operational activities;
Whereas the Government of the United States has enacted several laws, including the Syria Accountability and Lebanese Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2003 (Public Law 108-175) and the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-172), which call for the imposition of sanctions on Syria and Iran for, among other things, their support for terrorism and terrorist organizations;
Whereas the House of Representatives has repeatedly called for full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559;
Whereas section 1224 of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Year 2003 (Public Law 107-228) withholds certain assistance to Lebanon contingent on the deployment of the Lebanese armed forces to the internationally recognized border between Lebanon and Israel and its effective assertion of authority in the border area in order, among other reasons, to prevent cross-border infiltration by terrorists, precisely the criminal activity that has provoked the current crisis;
Whereas President George W. Bush stated on July 12, 2006, `Hezbollah's terrorist operations threaten Lebanon's security and are an affront to the sovereignty of the Lebanese Government. Hezbollah's actions are not in the interest of the Lebanese people, whose welfare should not be held hostage to the interests of the Syrian and Iranian regimes.', and has repeatedly affirmed that Syria and Iran must be held to account for their shared responsibility in the recent attacks;
Whereas the United States recognizes that some members of the democratically-elected Lebanese parliament are working to build an autonomous and sovereign Lebanon and supports their efforts; and
Whereas both Hezbollah and Hamas refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist and call for the destruction of Israel: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the House of Representatives--(1) reaffirms its steadfast support for the State of Israel;
(2) condemns Hamas and Hezbollah for engaging in unprovoked and reprehensible armed attacks against Israel on undisputed Israeli territory, for taking hostages, for killing Israeli soldiers, and for continuing to indiscriminately target Israeli civilian populations with their rockets and missiles;
(3) further condemns Hamas and Hezbollah for cynically exploiting civilian populations as shields, locating their equipment and bases of operation, including their rockets and other armaments, amidst civilian populations, including in homes and mosques;
(4) recognizes Israel's longstanding commitment to minimizing civilian loss and welcomes Israel's continued efforts to prevent civilian casualties;
(5) demands the Governments of Iran and Syria to direct Hamas and Hezbollah to immediately and unconditionally release Israeli soldiers which they hold captive;
(6) affirms that all governments that have provided continued support to Hamas or Hezbollah share responsibility for the hostage-taking and attacks against Israel and, as such, should be held accountable for their actions;
(7) condemns the Governments of Iran and Syria for their continued support for Hezbollah and Hamas in their armed attacks against Israelis and their other terrorist activities;
(8) supports Israel's right to take appropriate action to defend itself, including to conduct operations both in Israel and in the territory of nations which pose a threat to it, which is in accordance with international law, including Article 51 of the United Nations Charter;
(9) commends the President of the United States for fully supporting Israel as it responds to these armed attacks by terrorist organizations and their state sponsors;
(10) urges the President of the United States to bring the full force of political, diplomatic, and economic sanctions available to the Government of the United States against the Governments of Syria and Iran;
(11) demands the Government of Lebanon to do everything in its power to find and free the kidnapped Israeli soldiers being held in the territory of Lebanon;
(12) calls on the United Nations Security Council to condemn these unprovoked acts and to take action to ensure full and immediate implementation of United Nations Security Council 1559 (2004), which requires Hezbollah to be dismantled and the departure of all Syrian personnel and Iranian Revolutionary Guards from Lebanon;
(13) expresses its condolences to all families of innocent victims of recent violence; and
(14) declares its continued commitment to working with Israel and other United States allies in combating terrorism worldwide.
An excellent source of info on Israel/Lebanon conflict
This is the information relayed from someone inside Israel. His blog is updated numerous times each day. This gives you a personal look into this war.
How should the Israel and the US handle the Iranian and Syrian involvement in the Hezbollah movement?
Should Israel attack Syria? Absolutely. They could take out their pathetic air force in a matter of hours. They could beat Syria without ever having to put troops on the ground.
Should Israel attack Iran? Absolutely. There is no point in waging this little war in Lebanon and Lebanon only. The Hezbollah will be simply replaced from Iran and Syria like they have been for some time in recent history. Going into just Lebanon and stopping is like putting a bandaid on a two inch deep gash. Sure, it will hold for a few seconds, but blood will flow again very shortly. If we want a long term solution in the Middle East, it is necessary to engage the enemy in Syria and Iran. It is important that we involve the Iranian people in our attack of Iran. They are already rejecting the Iranian government. If we can get their support, our success is ensured.
What effect could this have on the US and Israel? First of all, a victory over Iran and/or Syria would be a victory in the war in Iraq since that is where most of the terrorists are coming from. Second of all, with Hezbollah/Hamas crushed in Lebanon, Iran, and Syria, there will be long term peace in the Middle East. Thirdly, this will help our situation in North Korea. It is no secret that North Korea and Iran are working together on nuclear weapons. Without Iran, the development of the weaponry necessary for an ICBM would be slowed significantly allowing time for a diplomatic solution. This will also send a message to Korea that America is no longer the coward it was under the Clinton administration. This will lead to much more cooperation in these diplomatic missions. The most important thing is that it will stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power. When Iran becomes a nuclear power, they WILL target Israel with nuclear weapons. This must be averted because that would carry potential armageddon consequences since Israel has nuclear weapons as well.
What should the US do? I think they should step up the rhetoric for now. The government should continue to condemn Hezbollah. They are lightly blaming Iran and Syria. That rhetoric needs to increase. We need to loudly condemn Iran and Syria for their contribution to Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel. If Israel is going to become involved in Syria, it will be our job to keep Iran from crossing Iraq into Syria. If Israel has the resolve to attack Iran, the primary instigator of their problems in Lebanon, then the US should provide air support.
Has World War 3 already begun?
Yesterday, I made the argument that World War 3 may begin shortly. Has it already begun? Upon examination, it’s clear that the war on Radical Islam already has at least ten fronts: Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Somalia, Israel (Gaza and West Bank), Georgia, Uzbekistan, The Philippines, Chechnya, and Kashmir (India/Pakistan). While this is already pretty much a world war already, this is no where near what it could become. If Iran, Syria, North Korea, and/or China become involved beyond their minimal involvement in Iraq and Lebanon, this war could become more awful than I even want to try to imagine.
Are we heading towards World War 3?
As we all look on concerned at the news, one has to worry. Is this the beginning of World War 3? Here is my take on it. Lebanon/Israel very well could be the spark that causes World War 3. When examining this situation, one must look at three main aspects. First of all, why is this war likely going to reach World War status? Second of all, who will fight on what side? Finally, what could the result of this war be?
Unfortunately, it is likely that the battle between Lebanon and Israel will lead to a World War. The table is definitely set at this point. As Israel is attacking Lebanon, they have seen signs that point towards Iranian and Syrian involvement. It is likely that this will ultimately lead to an middle east regional war. Because many enemies of radical Islam, including traditional Islamists themselves, are beginning to reject radical Islam, this could erupt into much more than a regional war. On top of this, there are also escalating tensions in Somalia, Iran, and North Korea. We already have a war being fought on six fronts: Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza strip, Lebanon, Kashmir, and Chechnya.
This is a war that has been gradually been building up since the rise of radical Islam. The US has been pulled into this immanent battle. We have been constantly attacked for over twenty years by the same enemy. Israel is taking on Muslim extremists in Lebanon just as we are in Iraq. One can look at the bottom of the entry to see a list of terrorist attacks on the United States since 1983. There are a lot of them. Anyone who says fighting radical Islam, look at the list of attacks. Muslim extremists are also responsible for terrorist attacks in Spain, Russia, Jordan, Iraq, Britain, Somalia, India, France, and Afghanistan to name a few. As this war develops, look for many nations to join the fight against the extremists. Also expect traditional Islamists from within countries like Iran and Syria to support this battle. We are starting to see that those who practice peaceful Islam are rejecting the blasphemous extremists. The biggest mistake radical Islam has made was the bombing of the Jordanian wedding. This is where it became clear that “infidels” are not the only enemies of the extremist movement. It is now clear that Muslims who are determined to be “impure” because they refuse to get involved in the jihad are targets as well.
One of the biggest factors in who sides with Israel will be anti-Jewish sentiments. While Europe and Russia have come a long way, I still get the feeling that there are still feelings against the Jews. I would say that one should expect countries that went into Iraq with us to side with Israel first. I would not count on the EU or Russia helping us out.
How does North Korea fit into this mess? There is evidence that North Korea has been building ties with Iran. There is a distinct possibility that they could jump into this war if it expands into Iran and Syria. In that case, China will be a huge factor in this war. Will they side with the North Koreans? In that case, this war would be more awful than I can imagine.
Somalia… a third front? That is a distinct possibility. While it has not made the news much recently, tensions have been rising in Somalia as it is now a safe haven for terrorists. The battle that Bill Clinton refused to fight will likely need a revisit in the near future. THANK YOU BILL CLINTON!
This situation that the world is in is worse than anyone’s nightmares. I see seven countries with nuclear and/or chemical weapons that could go enter a global war in the near future: US, China, Iran, North Korea, Syria, UK, and India. All I can say is, I am very glad that at least a portion of the Reagan missile defense system got through Congress despite heavy democrat opposition. That could be the one thing that keeps the United States from becoming a giant radioactive crater.
While this war may not occur this year, next year, or ten years, it will occur at some point in the future. It is best that we take on the Islamic Extremists now. I do not want to wait for Iran to bolster its nuclear program any further. If we wait around until they have a fully operational weapons program, they WILL attack us with a nuclear weapon without hesitation. They are very open about their goals, destruction of those who do not believe in their interpretation of Islam. While I hope and pray that somehow this will all go away and the world can live in peace, I know this is highly unlikely. The only scenario that has even a glimmer of hope for us is that Israel and its supporters will be able to take on one group at a time. The hatred towards nonbelievers is in Islamic Radicals’ core values. It is very likely that we will be dealing with this threat until they are defeated in a world war on Islam Radicals.
Pray for a miracle and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

US vetoes UN resolution urging end to Israeli attacks in Gaza (off the drudge wire)
Ah… I knew Bolton would pay off. The Israelis are simply fighting another front in the war on Radical Islam which I would argue we are winning. You can tell because Russia and France reacted stronger than Islamic nations. The mainstream Islamists are starting to side with us. They are beginning to reject the extremists who use Islam as an excuse for violence. They are rejecting those who bring blasphemy upon their religion. This war in Israel must be fought. This, like Iraq, sends the message that the world will not tolerate the horrible violence from the Islamic Extremists.
It’s funny how the UN is so willing to try and stop this but they refuse to stop North Korea.
Russia: Friend or Foe?
Is Russia a friend or a foe? They seem absolutely out of touch with reality. First of all, they refuse to back sanctions against North Korea. North Korea is not even trying to hide the fact that they are trying to develop technology that can send a nuclear bomb all the way to the United States, Israel, Russia, China, and Europe. This is a threat to the entire world and Russia doesn’t want to do anything. We are not even talking military action. We are just asking for strong threats sanctions. What do they expect to do? Waive a magic wand and make North Korea’s nukes go away. The government is crazy in North Korea and they would not hesitate to lob a nuke at anyone. This all seems to indicate Russia has a financial stake in Korea just as they did Iraq.
Not only are they against sanctions on North Korea, Russia has condemned Israel’s attacks on Lebanon. Maybe Putin never learned how to read the newspaper. Lebanon kidnapped two Israeli soldiers from inside Israel. Are they supposed to just let Lebanon do whatever they want? Israel must defend its sovereignty as well as protect their troops. They have a no men left in enemy territory policy and that must be followed. Israel needed to take a position of strength to show the Islamic Extremists in the region that they are a sovereign nation. They must show that if the Islamic Extremists do harm to Israel, it will be sent right back at them with intensity. Islamic Radicals do not understand this happy go lucky, let’s make a deal language. No matter how much land Israel gives up, the radical Islamists will not stop the fighting until Israel ceases to exist.
A global war on radical Islam
No one wants to say it, but the Global War on Terror has become a holy war. The Global War on Terror could be changed to the global war on radical Islam. This is why the war in Iraq is such a good thing. We are taking on radical Islam on their soil before they get to ours and showing them that we are not going to sit and take it anymore. We must not let political correctness stop us from waging this war. Just because these terrorists are bound by “religious views” does not make them immune from confrontation. There is a misconception that the terrorists are just after the US. WRONG! They are after every culture different from their own. This battle against radical Islamists is occurring on multiple fronts all around the world. In fact, radical Islam is even targeting normal Islam because they don’t share the same hateful ideas. It is my belief that 20 years from now, historians will refer to this worldwide war on radical Islam as World War 3, because that is exactly what it is. Here is a short list of countries targeted by radical Islam.
1) Iraq
2) Israel
3) US
4) Jordan
5) Canada
6) Britain
7) Spain
8) Somalia (Islam targeting normal Islam)
9) India
10) France (radical Islam from within)
11) Russia (Chechnya)
12) Afghanistan
Radical Islamists probably take up maybe 0.01% of all Islam in the world. Luckily I am educated enough to know that it is not right to blame all Islamists. I feel bad for the 99.99% of the Islamic people who do practice Islam peacefully. It is those 99.99% of the Islamic faith that must rise up. They need to publicly reject this radical Islam culture. It is time for Islam to fight for its reputation. A few sour apples are tarnishing an entire religion in the eyes of many. It is time for the radical Islamic Fascists to stop the blasphemy against the religion of Islam.
What should the US do? First of all, we should never play soft with these Islamic Fascists. They are nuts. They believe it is God’s intent that they destroy all nonbelievers and those who do not support their radical Islamic ways (hey… that description fits most of the cultures of the world). There is no soft negotiating with that. It is time that we approach this situation as Ronald Reagan would, from a position of strength. Remember when Ronald Reagan came out and said that Russia was an evil empire? That simple, yet powerful rhetoric needs to return. We need to come out strongly against this radical wing of Islam. We also need to be strategic in doing this. We need to make sure that we make it clear to the Islamic people that we are not only doing this to defeat a threat to us, but we are also trying to clean the public perception of Islam. We need to work with the normal Islamic people to make sure that the religion of Islam is not permanently damaged from a few crazy people.
This problem will not go away from “incentives” and other happy go lucky negotiation strategies. It is time that we negotiate with the Islamic Fascists in terms even they can understand. They must be told that if they don’t cooperate, we will destroy them just as we did in Iraq. It is time to return to a Reaganesque approach to this problem. It is time we ignore the rhetoric from the radical Islamists’ allies on the left side of the aisle in congress. As mentioned earlier, just because the terrorists are bound by “religion” does not grant them immunity. America and 99.99 % of Islamic people around the world will support this war on radical Islam if it is done in the right way because they want the blasphemy of their religion to stop. We must also make it clear that as non-radical Islamic people, they are targets of this evil movement as well. It is just necessary that we clearly articulate to the world that we are trying to protect the religion Islam, not harm it.
Clinton's Foreign Policy Has Lead to Cold War With North Korea
Diplomacy backed with fantastic gifts and sweet talking works really well with evil dictators. An example of this is Bill Clinton’s North Korea policy. He showered North Korea with, at the time, more money than any other country. He allowed him to have nuclear reactors only if he pinky swore that he wouldn’t make nuclear weapons. He allowed them to have technology that could produce weapons grade plutonium. Clinton was so nice to fund North Korea’s terrorist regime AND give them technology that could produce nuclear bombs. Don’t worry… North Korea promised they wouldn’t make nukes. Actually… they had a change of heart. Now the North Koreans have nukes and it is the fault of Clinton’s absolutely awful policy. This proves that DIPLOMACY DOES NOT WORK WITHOUT THREATS. This giving of candy to a horrible regime is just an awful idea. We need to give them at least a threat of sanctions. We will not win this cold war with North Korea unless we come from a position of strength. Oh yeah… thank you Bill Clinton.
North Korea targeted HAWAII
It is now being reported that the missle fired by the North Koreans was aimed at Hawaii. It is time for action. China and Russia don’t want to join us in our strong demands… I guarantee it’s because they have some kind of financial stake in North Korea just like they did with Iraq. It is time we gather all the countries we can and give an ultimatum to North Korea. These “talks” are not working only because they are not backed by threats. It is time we stop trying to sweet talk a madman. It won’t work.
The New York Times should be probed
This is ridiculous. The New York Times has shown another one of our cards to the enemy and no one at the paper seems to care. At what point does advancing their anti-Bush agenda become treason? They keep on revealing our means of catching terrorists. All of those responsible should be thrown in jail. We all know they want Bush out of office by any means possible... but no one would have thought they would aid the enemy of America that is trying to destroy us while trying to accomplish just that. Something needs to be done to stop the Benedict Arnold Times.
Full rights for NONCITIZEN enemy combatants…. No rights for the heroes of our military.
This has been bothering me SO MUCH! Why is it that McCain and all the liberals stand up and fight for the RIGHTS OF THE TERRORISTS!?!?!?! However, when our own citizen, our own MARINES who have rights entitled to them by the constitution of the United States of America are having their right violated... hear nothing but crickets? Where is the ACLU? Are they not supposed to defend the rights of people? The liberals live such a double standard. Full rights for NONCITIZEN enemy combatants…. No rights for the heroes of our military.
to contribute to the marines on trial
Kerry out of touch with reality
here is the language from his cut and run in Iraq bill:
Kerry Amdt. No. 4442; To require the redeployment of United States Armed Forces from Iraq in order to further a political solution in Iraq, encourage the people of Iraq to provide for their own security, and achieve victory in the war on terror.
Victory in the war on terror and cutting and running in the same statement… you have got to be kidding me….
Doesn't he realize that if we cut and run in Iraq, the terrorists get a major victory in the war on terror. Pulling out now would be like quitting a baseball game when you are up by 10 runs in the bottom of the ninth even with Bob Wickman on the mound. This war is almost over... we are nearing victory. The Iraqi army is not trained enough to fight off the insurgents on their own YET. If we pull out now, the government will likely lose its authority and a stateless regime would ensue. This is the ideal safe haven for terrorists. How is a safe haven for terrorists a victory in the war on terror? I'm sorry... I don't want Somalia the second (the result of Clinton's cut and run strategy).
WMDs found in Iraq
Ok... first we find out that there were ties with Iraq and Al Qaeda... now we find out there actually WERE weapons of mass destruction. You libs still think this war wasn't justified? It was a terrorist regime with chemical weapons. That seems to be justification to me.
Documents show Iraqi ties to 911
I don't understand why this is not getting more press, but documents discovered show the links between Sadaam and Al Qaeda.
Details of Atta's visit to the Iraqi capital in the summer of 2001, just weeks before he launched the most devastating terrorist attack in U.S. history, are contained in a top secret memo written to Saddam Hussein, the then Iraqi president, by Tahir Jalil Habbush al-Tikriti, the former head of the Iraqi Intelligence Service.The handwritten memo, a copy of which has been obtained exclusively by the Telegraph, is dated July 1, 2001 and provides a short resume of a three-day "work programme" Atta had undertaken at Abu Nidal's base in Baghdad.
In the memo, Habbush reports that Atta "displayed extraordinary effort" and demonstrated his ability to lead the team that would be "responsible for attacking the targets that we have agreed to destroy".
How about being responsible for the deaths of 3000 of our INNOCENT citizens in an act of war on our own soil? Is that good enough justification for invasion? Everyone seems to have no problem with the invasion of Afghanistan. How is Iraq any different? It has come out that there are terrorist ties to Iraq. I don't understand why the liberals keep on saying that there are no links. That is just a straight up lie. Anyone who says our invasion was not justified needs to open their mind and look at the facts. Is anyone going to argue that Zarqawi isn't in Al Qaeda? I don't think so. He was part of Sadaam's inner circle. It is obvious that Iraq was a terrorist regime.
149 democrats vote to cut and run in Iraq
Even as victory in Iraq is ensured by the removal of Zarqawi... 149 democrats invest in defeat of America. They voted for IMMEDIATE withdrawal of troops from Iraq giving a victory to Al Qaeda. They want us to lose a war that we are on the brink of winning. This would be like quitting in the bottom of the 9th inning while your team is up by 20 runs. This vote has made 3 things clear:
1) Democrats are investing in defeat in Iraq. They want us to lose so that Bush looks bad. Let's face it... we are winning and will get a complete victory in Iraq. That is almost certain now. However, they still want to pull out and accept a defeat. REDICULOUS! If baseball teams took this strategy, the Kansas City Royals would be undefeated.
2) Democrats are weak on terrorism. They don't see that Iraq is the front line in the war on terrorism. If you let the Islamic extremists win in Iraq, it will only embolden them. If we stand our ground, the terrorists will suffer a huge defeat. A victory sends the message out to the whole world that if you are a terrorist trying to harm the United States of America... WE WILL DEFEAT YOU! A victory in Iraq sends the message that we will not stand down to terrorists. This will counter the attitude that developed when Clinton pulled out of Somalia. Terrorists will understand that when a Republican is in office the United States of America will not accept defeat when Americans are killed. This makes this clear that only Republicans are strong enough to do something about the attitude that has been fueling terrorism since Somalia.
3) The Democrats are still living in a pre 9-11 world. They did not learn from Bill Clinton's mistake in Somalia. They still fail to grasp the simple concept that if Islamic extremists think they can push us around, they will push us around. As we continue win in Iraq, it will send the message that if you push us around, we will do something about it. You can expect two 500 pound bombs to be dropped on your house.
Democrats are not fit to battle the Islamic extremists. Even if you don't believe in Bush's economic or social policies, believe this: with George Bush, or any other Republican in office. We will win the global war on terrorism. We will be able to live safely.
Handover of security to Iraqi forces begins!!!!!!
The first handover of security responsibilities to Iraqi forces is set to go ahead next week, the first concrete step towards the withdrawal of coalition troops.
For all you doomsday democrats out there... you better find something else to be pessimistic about. It is clear that we are winning in Iraq. Iraq will be a Middle Eastern democracy whether you like it or not. I'm sorry... Bush handled this well.
1) Zarqawi is dead along with hundreds of other top jihadist leaders.
2) The handover of security efforts has begun.
3) The Iraqi people support the new government in greater percentages than the citizens of the United States do.
4) The people of Iraq and even IRAN are rejecting the Islamic jihadists/terrorists in Iraq.
5) The mass genocides of the Baathist regime will ever occur again in Iraq.
6) The Iraqi people are free.
7) We have shown the terrorists that we will not back down and we will defeat them.
20 years down the road when all of the partisan politics of this era have settled down, Bush's presidency will be looked upon as one of the greatest in recent times. He will be known as the president who swung the momentum in the war against Islamic extremists.
Iraq WAS tied to terrorism prewar
Maybe everyone forgot.... Zarqawi who is part of Osama's network... was involved with Iraq in the prewar times. The media keeps trying to deny it... but they can't do it without warping the truth.
According to AP reporter Patrick Quinn's account, then-Secretary of State Colin Powell's Feb. 5, 2003, presentation to the U.N. Security Council, in which he cited Zarqawi's presence in northern Iraq as proof of Saddam Hussein's links with al Qaeda, was "later debunked by U.S. intelligence officials." Mr. Quinn was wrong, as Mr. Powell's statement was actually confirmed by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report. In his remarks before the Security Council, Mr. Powell, (who is not known for pro-war bombast) bluntly informed the council that there was a "sinister nexus between Iraq and the al Qaeda terrorist network, a nexus that combines classic terrorist organizations and modern methods of murder. Iraq today harbors a deadly terrorist network headed by Abu Musab al Zarqawi, an associate and collaborator of Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda lieutenants."
This is no different than Afghanistan. They both harbored terrorists.
They also both had terror camps where people were taught to hate america and how to harm it.
Witness Says U.S. Troops Beat Al-Zarqawi After Bombing
While the left gets all mad about this... In other new Zarqawi cuts off INNOCENT american's head. As far as I'm concerned, he deserved to get smacked around a little. NOTHING the americans have done is as bad as beheading and innocent person with a rusty knife.
BAGHDAD, Iraq -- An Iraqi man who was one of the first people on the scene after an airstrike that led to the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi told Associated Press Television News that he saw American troops beating a man who had a beard like the al-Qaida leader.The witness said he saw the man lying on the ground, badly wounded but still alive. He said U.S. troops arriving on the scene wrapped the man's head in an Arab robe and began beating him. His account cannot be independently verified.
The spokesman for the U.S.-led forces in Iraq says troops tried to provide medical attention after they saw that al-Zarqawi was alive but he recognized them as American troops and tried to get away.
Major Gen. William Caldwell said the troops "re-secured" al-Zarqawi back onto the stretcher before he died almost immediately.
The two 500-pound bombs that obliterated al-Zarqawi's Iraqi hideout cut a wide swath of destruction.
There are no remaining walls in the house. Scattered among the debris of concrete blocks is a pillow with a floral pattern, sandals, a foam mattress, a cooler and part of a washing machine.
A skimpy slip in a leopard skin pattern and other see-through pieces of women's clothing were also found. Three women were among those killed in the house.

Clinton's Pacifism in Somalia Shows That We Should Stay in Iraq
In light of recent renewed calls for a pull out in Iraq to try and discredit the fact that we just made a big step towards victory, I have decided to republish this article so one can recall why we must settle for nothing less than complete victory.
10/06/2005:
There was something today that President George Bush said today in his speech that really made me think. He cited the battle of Mogadishu, Somalia as a rationale for staying in Iraq until the mission is completed. This battle, known by many as “Blackhawk Down,” was really a pivotal moment in recent history. This fairly unknown battle was the beginning of what is now “The War on Terror.” What if things were done differently? Would we be where we are today as a country? This will be evident after understanding Bill Clinton’s course of action, what he should have done differently, and what would be different if the right course of action was taken.
In order to fully understand, one must first understand the course of action taken by former President Bill Clinton. The date was October 3, 1993 and the plan was to send the two small, elite groups known as the Delta Force and the Army Rangers in to Mogadishu, Somalia to capture two terrorist clan members. This mission was successful. However, success would not be justly associated with this in any other contexts. It was during this mission in which the locals shot down two Blackhawk helicopters full of United States Special Forces. There were thousands of people shooting at our troops. In the end 18 troops died in action. The obvious thing to do would be to finish cleansing Somalia of these terrorists. However, the very next day, Bill Clinton gave into partisan pressure and called off the mission.
This was an enormous misjudgment on President Clinton’s part. This sent out a signal to everyone around the world saying that if they killed any of our Americans, we would falter. This is why Bill Clinton should not have backed off his mission goal, to cleanse Somalia of terrorists. Those 18 deaths were absolutely horrible; however, they were nothing compared to what the number of deaths that the falter resulted in. This clan of terrorists would soon be part of an organization known as Al Qaeda. I believe we all know what they are responsible for. Bill Clinton should have finished the mission and done whatever it took to stop this revolt because to our enemies, this was a sign of weakness. Just like any enemy who detects a weakness, they exploited it. They continue trying to exploit this weakness today; however, now it is no longer a weakness. We are strong and will not falter in the face of terrorism. That being said, resestablishing this strenth has resulted in many deaths that could have been avoided if Bill Clinton had finished the mission.
One has to ask what the world would be like without this falter, without this signal to the world that America is weak. For one, the culture of terrorism would not be spreading so rapidly throughout the world. On October 12, 2000 the terrorists bombed the USS Cole in Yemen. However, Bill Clinton perpetuated his culture of pacifism once again. If Bill Clinton would have stomped on the match before it caught the whole forest on fire, it would have been a lot easier to put out. It is likely that the current war in Iraq would have been over for a long time by now if he had not been a pacifist. It is possible that an authoritative response to these would have discouraged the attacks on September 11th, 2001.
This has lead to a lot of frustration throughout the Republican Party. The Democrats are quick to blame President Bush on everything related to terrorism. Even Bill Clinton himself came out to criticize Bush’s position on the war. The reality is, the fire will keep on getting bigger. Clinton could have stomped out the burning match; however, he chose to let the fire spread. It may not be easy to put out now, but the longer we wait, the bigger it’s going to get. President Bush is doing the right thing to change the culture of pacifism that was developed throughout the Clinton years. Although it will not be easy, we must do whatever it takes to be victorious. We must prove to these terrorists that their efforts are in vain by staying in Iraq until our mission is complete. The moment we leave Iraq is the moment the terrorists win and have an unregulated terrorism breeding ground. We will prove that America is strong, and we will not falter again.
GOT HIM!
Al-Zarqawi, the ring leader of terrorist activity in Iraq was killed by our US military. This is yet another milestone in the war on terror. This blow to the terrorists in Iraq will lead to less violence. Sorry CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, CBS, and all of you other liberal new sources... you're going to have to report positive news on the war in Iraq. Let's face it. We are making progress over in the sandbox. I know the liberal media will play this off as nothing... follow it with as much negative news as possible... and do whatever else they can to discredit this milestone. However, don't be fooled. This will lead to good things.
Hippie Liberal Soldier Refuses to go to Iraq
As thousands of Fort Lewis Army troops prepare to head back to Iraq, one of their officers is making a stand.A lieutenant says he is going to refuse to go, saying it's an unjust war. Anti-war groups are rallying to his defense.
I would not be surprised if those same Anti-war groups put him up to this. This is clearly another political stunt. It's funny how the few soldiers out of the entire military that come out and scream "THE WAR IS NOT JUST!" all get published. What about the people in the military who are proud to serve their country? Why cannot the press publish some of their stories? The answer is simple. The media have an anti-war agenda. They are trying to harvest all of the liberals who joined the military as they can to try and advance their agenda.
As for this particular case... SUPRISE! He's in the military... he doesn't have a choice. He is going to Iraq whether he likes it or not. If he wasn't up for defending our freedom, then he should not have joined. He is a disgrace to the rest of our military that is proudly serving our country so that all of us can live in freedom. He is simply a man in a uniform trying to advance a liberal agenda. The rest of our troops go to Iraq prepared to die for our freedom. The amount of respect that I have for them cannot even be expressed in words.
Thank you men and women of our military.
Iran rejects talks with the US
When is the UN going to apply some economic pressure to Iran? This Iran conflict is showing how useless the UN is. All they are is a bunch of liberals walking around in fancy suits (except for Bolton of course... he's a class act). Remember what happened when the UN didn't want to deal with Osama with any force? Yeah... 9/11/2001... thousands of Americans dead. If we don't deal with this... we'll be dealing with millions of dead in Israel when Iran nukes them.
Libya taken off of terrorist state list
The story of Libya is one of the biggest milestones of the Bush administration. I hope all of you realize how huge this is. First, let's look at what Libya used to be. Libya used to be a state that was actively pursuing Weapons of Mass Destruction. Libya used to be a state that aided terrorists. Now... after seeing what happened to Iraq when they tried to push us around, they have VOLUNTARILY abandoned their weapons programs and have cut ties with terrorism. This is outlined by the Washington Times:
Col. Moammar Gadhafi is a tyrant[the leader of Libya]: an iron-fisted authoritarian whose regime is responsible for multiple acts of terrorism, including the 1988 attack on a commercial airliner over Lockerbie, Scotland, that killed 270 people. Despite the depravity of Libya's past actions, however, Washington's decision to remove its designation as a sponsor of terrorism and upgrade diplomatic relations with the country, the last step to full normalized relations, is clearly the right one.
Hopefully as mentioned in this piece in the Washington Times, Iran, North Korea, and Syria will realize that we mean what we say. Hopefully in a few years, we will be talking about the ends of Iran's, North Korea's, and Syria's weapons programs. While I doubt they will go as smoothly as Libya, one must not forget Libya. They were a clear example of our approach to the war on terrorism working. It is not the big failure that the democrats are trying to convince you.
Venezuela, Harry Belfonte, and Terrorism
Remember when I mentioned that Case Western Reserve University paid to bring "Harry Belafonte—actor, singer and social activist." Also recall that I brought it to attention that Harry Belfonte has met with Chavez... the tyrannical leader of Venezuela. I'm so glad that my university is wasting my tuition money to bring in speakers that sympathize with nations like this. The following is a piece on Venezuela's recently exposed ties to Iran and terrorism:
"Cuban intelligence has effectively cloned itself inside Venezuelan intelligence," Thomas A. Shannon, assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs, told editors and reporters at the Washington Times. Mr. Shannon was also concerned about the nature of the intelligence relationship that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez wants with Iran. If this were not disconcerting enough, Venezuela is also providing shelter for organizations with ties to unspecified "terrorist organizations in the Middle East." Reports suggest that Hezbollah is one of those unspecified organizations. The State Department announcement last week that Venezuela would be designated a country that is not fully cooperating with efforts against terrorism makes it the only country so designated that is not also on the list of state sponsors of terrorism. This designation, which was met by characteristically absurd responses from Venezuelan officials, is not a first step toward the designation of a state as a sponsor of terror (which is a designation not reached through a step-by-step process). The designation does mean, however, that Venezuela is banned from purchasing U.S. weapons. In addition to troubling connections with Iran, Venezuela has also developed a "more structured relationship" with the FARC and the ELN, two Colombian guerrilla groups classified as terrorist organizations by the State Department. Mr. Chavez has for some time, because of his ideological sympathies, granted guerrillas from both groups safe haven on his side of the Venezuela-Colombia border. But Mr. Shannon noted that more of the growing number of weapons brought across the border were from stockpiles maintained by the Venezuelan government, and that Venezuelan officials must have been involved in some stage of the trafficking. Mr. Chavez's overblown anti-American agitprop is of little concern to Washington, which should not be drawn into a conflict that the authoritarian firebrand is able to wage on his own terms. The Venezuelan president should not be allowed to become the focal point of U.S. policy, but while turning a deaf ear toward Mr. Chavez's demagoguery is a good practice, turning a blind eye to his country's practice of harboring groups with ties to terrorist organizations is not. The State Department's announcement should be a message that Venezuela's behavior is more than unsavory.
CIA Leaker Kerry Supporter, worked for clinton
This should be ALL OVER THE PRESS. It's not... so I'll tell you about it. A CIA employee was fired for leaking information to the press. Political motivations were blatantly obvious here. This person was clearly leaking information in an attempt to smear our president. It turns out she is a Kerry supporter and used to work under Clinton as senior director of intelligence.
Russia STILL opposed to sanctions on Iran
This makes me wonder whether they have financial ties to Iran as they did Iraq. I can't see how any foreign nation can be against sanctions on Iran. They clearly are very close to having a nuke... they want to destroy Israel... they are very dangerous.
Soldiers Re-enlist higher than expectations by 15%!
This is amazing. It appears that the morale with the troops is a lot higher than the media would like you to believe. This is a sign that Rumsfeld is doing a good job... even though the liberal media AGAIN tries to convince you otherwise.
In the last six months, the U.S. Army is seeing 15 percent more soldiers re-enlist than expected. This continues a trend that began in 2001. Every year since then, the rate at which existing soldiers have re-enlisted has increased. This despite the fact that 69 percent of the troops killed in Iraq have been from the army. New recruits continue to exceed join up at higher rates as well.
Iran now funding terrorist Palastinian government
Well...we cut our funding because the Hamas gained control... and now Iran has started funding them because the Hamas is in control. I'm glad we wrote them an angry letter. It is time for sanctions. This is necessary for military force to be averted.
Iran can produce a bomb in "16 days"
According to this article
Those of you who questioned me before... even though I wanted you to be right... they were clearly further along than we had thought. I mentioned that they could have a nuke tomorrow... excuse me... April 26, 2006.
How long will it take for us to do something about this? I think we should contact the UN about writing another angry letter without even any empty threats.
Iran Defiantly Rejects Angry Letter From UN
What a surprise... Iran laughed off the angry letter from the UN. It is clear that we must be more aggressive in this quest to get them to cease uranium enrichment. We must set a time table indicating that when we will impose sanctions and other actions if they do not end their programs. Time is not on our side. We must act now before they obtain nuclear weapons.
Documents show Saddam WAS involved with Al Qaeda
This writing outlines some of the problems with the Democrats’ portrayal of the war in Iraq. Documents have surfaced showing Saddam's ties to Al Qaeda. Not to worry... I'm sure as the Saddam/terrorism link is cemented... the Democrats will find something else to complain about.
Bush unleashes on left wing hack "journalist" Helen Thomas at press conference
BUSH TAKES ON PRESS AND HELEN THOMAS TOO
Tue Mar 21 2006 14:40:12 ETHelen Thomas, who in January grumbled that President Bush was a “coward” for not calling on her at a press conference, today was granted a question for the first time in several years. The doyenne of the White House press corps, who once called Bush the worst president in U.S. history, seized her chance with gusto, essentially debating Bush instead of questioning him. Here's the transcript:
THE PRESIDENT: Helen. After that brilliant performance at the Grid Iron, I am -- (laughter.)
Q You're going to be sorry. (Laughter.)
THE PRESIDENT: Well, then, let me take it back. (Laughter.)
Q I'd like to ask you, Mr. President, your decision to invade Iraq has caused the deaths of thousands of Americans and Iraqis, wounds of Americans and Iraqis for a lifetime. Every reason given, publicly at least, has turned out not to be true. My question is, why did you really want to go to war? From the moment you stepped into the White House, from your Cabinet -- your Cabinet officers, intelligence people, and so forth -- what was your real reason? You have said it wasn't oil -- quest for oil, it hasn't been Israel, or anything else. What was it?
THE PRESIDENT: I think your premise -- in all due respect to your question and to you as a lifelong journalist -- is that -- I didn't want war. To assume I wanted war is just flat wrong, Helen, in all due respect --
Q Everything --
THE PRESIDENT: Hold on for a second, please.
Q -- everything I've heard --
THE PRESIDENT: Excuse me, excuse me. No President wants war. Everything you may have heard is that, but it's just simply not true. My attitude about the defense of this country changed on September the 11th. We -- when we got attacked, I vowed then and there to use every asset at my disposal to protect the American people. Our foreign policy changed on that day, Helen. You know, we used to think we were secure because of oceans and previous diplomacy. But we realized on September the 11th, 2001, that killers could destroy innocent life. And I'm never going to forget it. And I'm never going to forget the vow I made to the American people that we will do everything in our power to protect our people.
Part of that meant to make sure that we didn't allow people to provide safe haven to an enemy. And that's why I went into Iraq -- hold on for a second --
Q They didn't do anything to you, or to our country.
THE PRESIDENT: Look -- excuse me for a second, please. Excuse me for a second. They did. The Taliban provided safe haven for al Qaeda. That's where al Qaeda trained --
Q I'm talking about Iraq --
THE PRESIDENT: Helen, excuse me. That's where -- Afghanistan provided safe haven for al Qaeda. That's where they trained. That's where they plotted. That's where they planned the attacks that killed thousands of innocent Americans.
I also saw a threat in Iraq. I was hoping to solve this problem diplomatically. That's why I went to the Security Council; that's why it was important to pass 1441, which was unanimously passed. And the world said, disarm, disclose, or face serious consequences --
Q -- go to war --
THE PRESIDENT: -- and therefore, we worked with the world, we worked to make sure that Saddam Hussein heard the message of the world. And when he chose to deny inspectors, when he chose not to disclose, then I had the difficult decision to make to remove him. And we did, and the world is safer for it.
Q Thank you, sir. Secretary Rumsfeld -- (laughter.)
Q Thank you.
THE PRESIDENT: You're welcome. (Laughter.) I didn't really regret it. I kind of semi-regretted it. (Laughter.)
Q -- have a debate.
THE PRESIDENT: That's right. Anyway, your performance at the Grid Iron was just brilliant -- unlike Holland's, was a little weak, but -- (laughter.)

Bush threatens Iran... It has more punch after Iraq doesn't it
I disagree with George Bush on some issues, but this is definitely not one of them. President Bush said that if Iraq doesn't listen, we'll invade. They didn't listen, we invaded Iraq. Since then, the US has a much stronger arm in negotiations. The first sign of this came when Libya got rid of their WMDs. Now... he has made the threat to Iran. The leaders of Iran now know that American is not the pacifist that it once was. We are not afraid to take action when it is necessary. We back our threats... they are not empty as they were in the Clinton era. The days of being pushed around are over. America is stronger than these little nations that have been pushing us around. Iran knows that... and more importantly, our president knows that.

Congress needs to stop putting themselves on "your security" pedestals
This port deal controversy is ridiculous. THEY ARE NOT OUTSOURCING PORT SECURITY! It is necessary that this deal goes through. There is not an issue with port security if this deal goes through. It is necessary that this deal goes through so that we can push our free trade agenda. How can we preach free and open trade if we don't let a simple business transaction happen just because they're Muslim? By this logic... we better stop UAE from controlling everything else that they already control. We might as well put every Muslim in the world on the terrorist watch list.
South Dakota Congress Passes Law Against Abortion
As the South Dakota House of Representatives gave final approval today to a bill aimed at banning most abortions and creating a U.S. Supreme Court challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, Gov. Mike Rounds said he’s inclined to sign it.
It IS likely that this will lead to a challenge of Roe vs. Wade. We will see how constitutional the new justices are. Anyone with half a brain will admit that Roe vs. Wade is legistlation not a court decision. By that, I mean that Roe vs. Wade wrote law... it didn't interpret any law. Even some pro choice people will admit that the Roe vs. Wade ruling is flawed. I really hope this law leads to a challege...
Bush is right on the port stance
The more I have thought about this... the more I support our president. This is a capitalist nation. This is a nation that is supporting free trade. We must lead by example.
That said, should we still investigate this company? Yes. We should investigate every company that operates our ports. If this is done, we can keep our ports safe and promote capitalism and free trade.
Mixed feelings on Bush stance
In case you have not heard, George Bush threatened to veto any bill to stop the Middle Eastern port purchase...
I don't know what I think about this. On one hand, this is capitalism. On the other, it is a threat to our security. It is pretty well accepted that there are many ties to terrorism in Middle Eastern Companies. Our ports are vulnerable to weapons imports now. They would be even more so with Middle Eastern control of our ports.
I understand both sides of the story; however, I would have to say that our security is most important here. I think that we should perform a formal investigation of this company to determine the effects of giving them the contract.
Military action will occur with Iran
While I would much rather solve this with economic sanctions, Israel will not. Iran/Syria is such a big threat. You will likely see Israel leading a charge towards precision military strikes as they did with Iraq many years ago. This truly scares me. Which side would Russia take in this case? You would think they would side with Israel and the US, but that does not seem to be certain at all. Iran has been very enigmatic with it's declaration of weapons. Iran very well could have nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. It is possible that they could use them in response to any conflict. We must be very careful how we take on this beast of a problem.
That being said, Israel will not allow these weapons programs to progress. They are far too close.
Sanctions on Iran could hurt our economy
This cold war with Iran could lead to bad things for our economy. Iran pumps so much oil that this could severely impact our fuel prices.
This is turning into a lose-lose situation.
Option 1) Economic Sanctions - will raise fuel prices and probably not stop them
Option 2) Air strikes - How can we possibly know where all the sites are? This too will disrupt the oil market and raise fuel prices.
State vs. Terrorism
One big confusion in this wiretap case is the fact that Osama's terrorist organization is not a country. However, just because one cannot point out and say "this is the region of al qaeda," does not mean that al qaeda is immune to anything that is brought upon other enemies of the state. Is this a different enemy than we are used to? Yes. It is. However, we cannot let this change effect the way we fight the war. Al Qaeda is spread throughout the world. We must do just as we did against all other enemies in a time of war. We must spy on them to get an edge. If we know what they are trying to do, we stand a better chance of stopping them. Do we need to get a warrant to spy on Osama in Afghanistan? No. Should we have to get a warrant if he was in the United States? No... he is an enemy of the state. We should not force the government to do ANYTHING that can jeopardize the safety of the American people.
Al Qaeda wants to kill you. They want to kill me. We are fighting an enemy that will not hesitate to kill thousands of innocent civilian lives. We cannot let the fact that they are not a country stop us from fighting this war. If the COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF determines that getting a warrant could jeopardize a wire tap, then that is what we should do. It's legal and unless you're talked to Osama this morning... you have nothing to worry about.
