Grading Contract

I really dislike the grading contract that is integrated into this management class. My biggest criticism is that it is borderline redundant. I feel like every time I begin a class, I enter into an unwritten agreement with the instructor to complete a determined set of assignments or examinations in exchange for a grade that is based on the quality of my work. The only difference with this grading contract is that I have to sign something. I am looking for the special purpose that actually having students sign a contract serves to augment the material we cover in class. So far the course has been interesting and informative; I look forward to the innovative and hands-on activities planned through the semester and the rest of the year.
