Gliders, Slingshots, & Dropping Eggs
At yesterday's meeting, the exec board began detailed planning for Summer Design Experience 2010. I would like to say that I am extremely jealous of those who will be accepted into the program, because our current list of mini design competition projects looks something like this:
- Design a mega egg drop that involves dropping an egg from 80 feet!
- Design a glider on a $50 budget. (Yes. $50!)
- Design a potato launcher.
- Design a slingshot/tennis ball launcher.
All great ideas! Now I'm sure the SDE students will have a blast during their first week.

CREATE Has a Secret...
At the exec board meeting today, I got more details about the Super Secret CREATE Project that we will announce sometime in November, if all goes well. (Hint: Think polymers.)
But sssshhh...I'm not supposed to share anything about that just yet.
So instead, let me write about CREATE's upcoming second general body meeting on Thursday, October 15th! We'll talk about coming up with initial ideas for starting an engineering project and microcontroller design! (Get excited for some cool mini-projects!)
So, to start thinking about the event, what would you like to do with microcontrollers?
