Real-World Experience

I think we need to get more real-world experience in order to be top-notch managers when we get our degrees. Even if it is just field trips, I think it would definitely help. We are very close to downtown, I think it would be fun to get out of the classroom and go meet people and maybe go on a little tour. I am sure business would like to do it as a chance to get their name out for quality interns. I think it would be much more informative than an interview. Besides, field trips are fun.

I agree with Eric 100%. I do think that the interviews are a great tool for learning, however, I think the business school here at CASE as a whole needs to utilize our location and by that I am referring to downtown. I am from Cleveland and I know that downtown does not have tons of businesses because Cleveland leaders have done a poor job at bringing in new business. However, there are still ample opportunities within the city for us undergraduate business students to get exposure to our field and city. I am sure there are connections through alumni with companies downtown. We really should utilize Cleveland as an asset to our learning experience. Good point Eric, hopefully CASE will not only realize this but also consider it as well.

Eric,

I completely agree with this idea. This would be much more realistic than the HR simulation, and I'm certain some Cleveland businesses would like to allow us to help them make some decisions about their HR operations or at least allow us to observe.
