Class Discussions Part II

Today we discussed performance appraisals in class. Today was had the largest number of ridiculous comments I have ever heard in one classroom.

People were saying things that made no sense whatsoever. We would then try and strain out some sense from the “thought” the pupil had, but inevitably just wasted our time. Speaking in class discussion has become a habit for some people, and in some cases it is a bad habit. Many people just raise their hand to get "participation points" and do not think beforehand about what they are going to say. The result is a jumbled mess that leaves me sick to my stomach. Maybe we are too concerned with quantity and not enough quality.

It seems to me the solution to this problem is to stop it at its source. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO SAY BEFORE YOU SAY IT. Do everyone a favor. Don’t be an idiot.
