Getting back into a routine

Apologies for the hiatus here, which was longer than planned. The interruption to quietly getting work done was a good deal shorter, but still longer than planned.

Since I last posted, I've moved from Cleveland to Seattle. The plan was to take 2-3 weeks off work, during which time my fiancée and I would drive to Seattle (taking 10 days to make it an enjoyable trip) and then magically find an apartment and move in in the remaining few. Of course, moving took longer than that, not least because getting our stuff back from the movers was... less easy than it should have been, and I had completely failed to account for the amount of time that settling in to a city I haven't lived in before would take. The break, at least counting time in which I was trying to work but my productivity was very low, ended up being more like a month long.

Still, I'm back in a routine now, and so far very happy about the move. For the past few weeks I've just not been blogging because I wanted to get more work done, so I pushed talking about work aside for a while. I do need to get back to writing though, not least because it helps me to hold myself to account. That's all the more important now that I only get to see my advisor every couple of months.
