Qualifications
Candidates for the scholarship must be female of Asian (includes those who can trace their ancestry from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) or Pacific Islander ancestry.
Candidates must also fulfill the following criteria to be considered:
Enrolled full-time in an accredited 4-year undergraduate institution in the U.S. at the time of application and award
Have one or more of the following:
a) a leadership role in a community or non-profit endeavor, or b) a record of entrepreneurial achievement
Minimum of 3.0 Undergraduate GPA (out of 4.0) at the time of application
Most recent college transcript is required for the application; semifinalists will be required to provide their most recent official college transcript
U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Deadline
The application deadline is August 1, 2009. Semifinalists will be notified in September 2009 and winners will be notified in November 2009.
