Business Ethics
Recently we spoke of the ethics in business, which I feel sometimes are overlooked in the grand scheme of the business world. With companies like Enron and WorldCom, and their mishaps, it has a huge impact. Many people were left without any means of financial stability when Enron went under. Foul-ups in business ethics as well as failures of businesses all together have huge impacts on many people. Thousands of employees of companies can have their entire livelihood attached to the company for which they work. If the company fails or is forced to file for bankruptcy a great deal of workers’ lives can be ruined.

I agree ethics in business is something that until the past few years has been overlooked. A lot of people get hurt when a business does unethical practices. Not only does it hurt the employees, but the CEO’s be unethical also end up in jail. However where should business ethics come from? Should they be taught at school or should it be something that comes from with in? It is apparent that society needs to review how it teaches business ethics. Yet who is going to do it and where is it going to come from?
