I Got Religious

After feeling downright miserable for the past few weeks due to being sick, I decided I needed to party. And what better excuse to party than my fraternity's initiation?

Some people have days that they wish they could forget; I wish I could forget this week. Nearly every aspect of this week just plain sucked. Over the weekend, I knew I was getting sick. I started coughing, my nose was clogged, my hearing wasn't so good, and I was extremely tired. On Sunay, I just slept in and pretty much did nothing the whole day (except my homework of course). I had an exam in statics on Monday, but I found it difficult to concentrate when studying for it. I'm not sure if this was a result of being sick, my depression worsening, or just a combination of the both. I downplayed the necessity for studying because I scored A's on the first two exams in that class. When it did come time to taking the exam on Monday, I didn't do as hot as the first times, but I definitely don't think I bombed it. Monday evening I just relaxed by not really doing anything except my BME homework. I killed time by playing some Counter-Strike. I haven't really played any computer games this semester. This is probably a good thing, but you can't beat a first person shooter when it comes to relieving stress or just killing time. Besides, it is humorous to listen to the ten year olds talk on the game's built-in radio. "Well guys, I've got to go eat dinner now." "You shouldn't say the 'F' word because it isn't kind." It is funny, yet sad at the same time. Monday night I layed down in bed at 1:00 AM and didn't fall asleep until 4. Stupid cold.

Tuesday was an adventure to say the least. I went to BME in the morning (10AM comes awfully early when you go to bed at 4AM). I probably would have fallen asleep during class if it weren't for the fact that a friend of mine was going through a sort of emotional crisis that morning and she needed my support. She mentioned a physics review session for the exam on Thursday, so I figured I would go with her not only to review physics, but to provide emotional support. I bought her lunch and we set out to find the review. After walking across campus twice, we were unable to find it. The room where it was supposed to be held was empty. All the other rooms where it could have been were also empty. So, we just found a quiet bench in a building, ate lunch, and talked things over for about an hour. Eventually, she needed to head to class, so we split. I walked back to my fraternity. On the way, I formulated a list of everything I needed to do that afternoon and evening. Upon arriving in my room, I was exhausted, so I decided to lay down for 5 minutes. Three hours later I awakened. I felt well rested, but on the other hand I was behind on the list of things to accomplish. Oh well. I did my homework that was due for Wednesday, played more Counter-Strike, and hacked up a lung.

Wednesday hit me like a brick wall. I slept through my alarm. When I woke up, it was almost 3:00 PM. That's right, I slept through all of my classes. That is an accomplishment for me. I felt like crap the rest of the day and never really did anything except to study a little bit for the physics exam. Since I woke up so late, I had trouble falling asleep Wednesday night. I think I finally fell asleep around 3 AM.

On Thursday, I was determined to not sleep in and to make it through the whole day without sleeping. I had extreme difficulty waking up in the morning. I was tired and I just felt miserable. I walked into my BME class 15 minutes late. It was plain to see that I was a walking zombie. I hate walking in late to class, as I feel it is disrespectful, especially to the professor. I don't think the professor minded this time, however, as he could plainly see how ill I looked. He even asked me after class how I was feeling. After class, I bought a Sobe to energize me for the physics test. I didn't feel the physics exam was too terrible. Others complained, but I felt I did pretty good. Who knows. After the physics exam, I grabbed lunch with two girls who lived on my floor last year then went to physics lab. It was the final lab of the year, so everybody was pretty lax. It is a good thing too, because my lab partner and I were both extremely exhausted. I was having difficulty concentrating on doing the lab procedure. She pointed out many dumb mistakes I made during the lab. Oh well. We did manage to finish the lab and get our lab worksheet completed , so things weren't as bad as they could have been. I was exhausted again on Thursday evening. Although I didn't take a nap, I was practically a walking zombie. The only thing I remember doing that night was fooling around with this web site. I added the weather thing along with the headlines on the main page. I also managed to screw up the photo gallery. I'll fix that soon though.
