I Guess I'm Overdue for an Update

This is take two of the much needed blog update. The first one was consumed by my computer and was never published. Oh well.

A lot of people are wondering what I am up to this summer. To summarize, I'm working up here in Cleveland at the university. Under no circumstances would I return to Indiana to be forced to milk cows for the summer (this was about the complexity of my summer job last year at Purdue). I have been working now for one week at my full-time job in admissions and financial aid and am loving nearly every minute of it. The staff, faculty, and fellow students in these departments are really down to Earth and are a thrill with which to work. It is great being reacquainted with the university politics that are so easy to ignore when you are just a student.

Not having to worry about homework and classes has been a much-needed relief. I'm already starting to look at the university in a different perspective.

Yesterday, I discovered what could possibly be my routine to get back in shape. I decided to take advantage of the weather and ride my bike. Not really thinking twice, I headed out to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame via the lakeshore bike path. Today, I did the same, shaving about three minutes off of my time. For some reason, I think I might get back in the groove of riding 20+ miles nearly every day. It has been a few summers since I managed that pace. I guess only time will tell.

Anyway, it is getting late-- I hate having a time schedule that mirrors the real world's-- so I must be getting to bed. I need my rest for the busy weekend ahead. Saturday will be spent helping a brother move to an apartment downtown as well as doing general house improvements. Maybe I will finally get that paint on the doors in my room...

Until next time,
Love, peace, & chicken greese
