Arcades Are Cool

Since the day at work was nothing about which to write home, I will skip that segment of the day. When I got home from work, I eagerly opened the package that came for me. My new CDT speakers looked as I expected.

I purchased a pair of cheap 6.5" 2-way CDT speakers for my car as well as the CDT Upstage sound kit. The latter is supposed to be the kind of thing audiophiles love. It just consists of a super-tweeter and a crossover-like processor. The idea is you mount the tweeters above your dash, aiming them towards each other via the windshield. The processor redirects certain frequencies to these super-tweeters, effectively raising the sound stage, thus giving better acoustic imaging. If putting these in did not require me ripping out half my car, I definitely would have been all of that today. Fortunately for my sanity, the Phikap arcade machine needed completion.

I spent an hour or two after work getting the new arcade machine to a point where I could put it downstairs. After that, I spent another thirty minutes enjoying the fruit of my labor. I can already tell that the arcade machine is going to contribute to the academic decline of the fraternity. There are so many games to play on it! It is like traveling through time and being seven all over again. I love it.

The rest of the day was rather uneventful. I ran out to Giant Eagle to grab some groceries. On the way back, I stopped by Warehouse Beverage to buy a case of Warsteiner, my German import of the month, and some other expensive beer. For those not familiar with Warehouse Beverage, they stock a WIDE assortment of imported beer and wine. Some of the beer approaches $6 per bottle! Needless to say, I haven't forked out that much for one bottle yet, but I am slowly making my way through their offerings. Perhaps I will be well cultured in beer by my 22nd birthday?

Well, I'm feeling a wee tired, so I think I'll head off to bed. Until then.
