What a Day
Friday was filled with new college experiences, although I had not planned on any of them.
It all started after classes around 5:00 PM. I go downstairs for some reason or another and find TJ, Chris, Greg, and Norm sitting on the front porch talking about going paint balling. They invite me, so after a little hesitation (mainly due to cost), I decided to go with them. We drove down to an indoor arena near Valley View. This is the first time I've played on a real course. Although it isn't as exciting as playing it in the woods behind Justin Quinn's house back in Indiana or in the Big R. warehouse there as well, it was still a blast. I forgot the adrenaline rush you get playing the game. I only the battle could have been more fair. Since I had to rent a gun from the place, it was nothing compared to the semi and full automatic guns others had. It was also not the most accurate weapon.
After three hours of hard-fought battles, we came back to the house. Some rushees were there, so we mingled with them. At 11:30, TJ and I went to the Barking Spider, a hole in the wall bar within walking distance that nobody seems to know about. There, we met a whole bunch of alumni and their friends, many of them I didn't know. It was definitely worth while to hear about all of their stories from their college years.
Around two, we all came back to the house. Ben was entertaining a group of people. The alumni mingled around for about an hour before going out to get donuts at three. For the next hour, the subdued party in my room was slowly losing steam. People were making a lot of noise and many of us were about ready to collapse from tiredness. Finally, around four the girls left and I could get some sleep.
I slept in until noon today. I just finished painting the ceiling in the Greenhouse bathroom. I will probably be back in an hour to paint the walls. In the meantime, there are a billion other things I could be doing, so I will get to work on them.
