Mother Disenfranchizes Us

Posted at November 2, 2004 02:02 PM in .

There is big controversy up here in Cleveland that mother has come out on election day to disenfranchise many minorities. She has prevented many from making the journey to the polling places. Many would go, if it weren't for mother. I am, of course, referring to mother nature. There will inevitably be a conspiracy theory saying the GOP is in control of a giant weather machine that is producing all this rain. Democrats will whine and bitch if Kerry loses. I can't imagine what they will sound like if the sole reason is the rain in Cleveland. It will be a shame if the dead and multiple-registrants don't turn out to vote today. Well, we already know the latter will be at home passed out from the cocaine binge last night. Anyway, I am happy because I just voted in my first presidential election. Having the opportunity to cast my vote in the state of Ohio in this closely attested election is a privilege I would not have in many countries and surely will not have in upcoming elections because of the lessened impact of one vote. No matter who the winner or loser in this election (and I'm sure we won't know for quite some time), just be glad that you have the opportunity to chose the leaders of your school, township, city, county, state, and country.
