To Return or Not to Return

Posted at June 8, 2005 11:17 PM in .

During a trip to the Home Depot on Monday, I finally caved in and bought the DeWALT DC6KTGA 6-piece 18V cordless combo. The 41 pound yellow box now sits in my room, tempting me like the three Sirens. I now have to decide whether to keep the kit or return it. It is quite a dilemna.

I have three options.

Keep the kit from the Home Depot

  • I have it now
  • I don't have to carry it back to the store
  • Get a free tool via mail-in rebate

Return it and buy it somewhere else

  • There was like $55 tax from Home Depot. I can buy it for the same base price with free shipping from Amazon
  • Still get a free tool
  • Possibly get the alternate kit -- it comes with a right angle drill instead of an impact drill

Give Up

  • Do I really need this?
  • It costs $630 -- I can find better things to buy
  • Do I want more stuff to haul around when I move?

Maybe someone out there can help me decide what to do. This is a tough decision...
