New Wiki Skin Issues
After deploying a new skin on Wiki@Case I am once again reminded of how much I loathe designing web site layouts. The root of the problem is of course Internet Explorer. Why can't I design a single site css file? Why do I have to design special css files for certain browsers? You would think that everybody's implementation of css would be uniform by now. Oh well. Back to the layout design phase...

What exactly is the problem with the CSS in IE? I've had my share of difficulties getting IE to cooperate CSS-wise, but I've never had to go so far as to create a different CSS file for it. Usually I can find a compromise.
I was having a fair share of problems with IE displaying the DIV + CSS only page (no tables). MediaWiki by default uses custom skins for separate browsers.
In related news, I believe I have corrected the IE layout issues. My Microsoft rant is on hold.
