Google Goes GIS Crazy
Google went GIS crazy today. They are offering a new version of Google Earth (there is even Linux support!). There is now an enterprise license for Google Earth at $10k/year (somebody at Case please find the money to get this). A new Google Maps API was also annouced. It will support a basic .kmz markup. There is also a new geocoding API that converts a postal address into latitude / longitude. Finally, a free service that does this! Finally, there will be new high-definition imagery available. Google Earth alreadhy provides it. Google Maps will have it in a few weeks.
All this is awesome. I can't wait to fly around the new Google Earth when I have the chance...
