• Development of job descriptions as required
• Analysis of salary reviews, with attention to the impact and feasibility of those considerations within budget projections and constraints
• Coordinate Human Resource development with the HR department to ensure interpretation and administration of HR policies and issues
• Maintain the confidentiality and the integrity of any sensitive materials relating to human resources, financial transactions, and intellectual property issues.The position requires the ability to develop and implement office procedures that respond to the evolving requirements of this department. This position is also responsible for the facility management of the Office. This includes relocations of office space, as well as the most efficient and cost effective workspace.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
Seven to ten years experience in a business or university setting; previous management experience and extensive accounting experience required.Education/licensing
Bachelor degree required, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Management. Advanced degree preferredEssential skills
• Knowledge of technology transfer functions including patent prosecution and all associated transactions.
• Knowledge of Federal government compliance in accordance with the Bayh-Dole Act.
• Experience in human resources and facility management.
• Ability to work with highly confidential material, e.g., salary, employee records, etc.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasks
• Ability to remain calm and deal with high pressure situations diplomatically.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be organized with demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Must possess the ability to prioritize workload and work efficiently.
• Must possess ability for independent problem solving.
• Must possess a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Must possess ability to adapt to changes in an expanding Technology Transfer Office, including staff additions, increased workload in record keeping, reporting and training.Technical skills
• Computer literate, with extensive working knowledge of email, database software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, and use of the Internet.
• Experience with financial databases and PeopleSoft.
