We have noted a number of Rbot infections on campus hosts of late.
These automated attacks are pernicious, and can include backdoors, trojan horse programs, and keyloggers. They generally communicate with a 'master' server over IRC channels, and receive a program payload (the goodies)

Users are advised to keep patches and anti-virus signatures updated.
This bot net infection can take advantage of many Windows vulnerabilties and misconfigurations.
