A security issue in the Firefox browser 126.96.36.199 has been announced this week at Security Focus. An update to version 188.8.131.52 has been released, and is available under the Help menu of the browser.
A good many of Case campus users are using Firefox as their primary browser. Unlike the Microsoft or Apple built-in browsere, the 'third party' applications do not auto update with the operating system updates, such as on MS Patch Tuesday. Firefox (and possibly Thunderbird) will notify the user when a major update is available, but not for small ones. Users are advised to manually update their Firefox browsers if no automated mechanisms have been put into place.
