False alarm. It turns out the memory was for another system. The memory for the Sympa server has not yet arrived. The upgrade has been postponed.
The mailing list server (Sympa) will be down for some time between 5am and 6am on Thursday moring so we can add additional memory to the server. The server has been running very slowly lately due to excessive swapping. Adding the additional memory should speed things up.
Mail to mailing lists and departmental aliases will be delayed. The mail will be queued and sent out as soon as the server is back up. The sympa web server will also be unavailable during the upgrade.
