Problem Report: Non-production Oracle databases down

Posted by postprob on July 17, 2009 at 05:53 PM

Problem: Non-production Oracle databases down
Cause: cluster fault triggered by transient network issue
Affects: users of non-ERP, non-production Oracle databases ("DB2" databases)
Started: 07/17/2009 04:17 PM
Resolved: 07/17/2009 06:30 PM

Notes:

The triggering issue may have been a bridging loop that was cut at the time of this incident.

The system was able to partially recover on its own, but a scripted restart of the databases failed. DBAs were able to restart the affected databases manually.
