Problem:   Single Sign On (SSO) Service was unavailable
Cause:     Exact cause unknown at this time
Affects:   All users of Single Sign On service

Resolved:  09/10/2009 02:00 PM

Notes:

Excessive demand on the service caused performance to degrade beyond the point of usability. Exactly what caused the excessive demand is yet to be determined.

Demand has dropped to normal levels and the system is back in full operation again. We are instituting a number of additional measurement points to determine what caused the demand to spike so that we can take steps to prevent a future occurrence of the problem.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the outage.
