Problem Report: LDAP Replica 5 needed to be restarted

Problem: LDAP Replica 5 needed to be restarted Cause: A disk filled up Affects: Anyone directly referencing ldap-replica5.cwru.edu Started: 01/02/2010 06:00 AM Resolved: 01/02/2010 01:51 PM
Notes:
A problem with one of the network file system (NFS) mounted disks caused a log rotation program to fail. Since the logs were not being rotated properly, the file system where the logs are stored prior to rotation filled up and started causing operational problems for the entire system on which ldap-replica5 runs.
This replica is NOT part of the ldap.case.edu round-robin so the only people affected by the system issues would be those who refer directly to ldap-replica5.cwru.edu for their access.
We have fixed the issues with the NFS mount and are rotating the log files by hand so the disk that filled is back to normal operating usage levels.
We have restarted the replica as a precaution against it having been confused by its logging error being full.
