Problem: Email Delays Cause: Still unknown - all mail servers are experiencing excessive network timeouts Affects: all mail delivery Started: 02/11/2010 11:00 AM Resolved: 02/11/2010 05:51 PM
Notes:
Network connections from all of the mail routers and the Sympa server are experiencing excessive connection timeouts.
The cause is unknown at this time.
5:00 pm The ITS engineering team continues to focus on this issue and has been ruling out possible causes. At this time we do not have an estimate of resolution. No mail is being lost. It is being queued up and some is slowly being delivered. Engineers will continue to work through the evening on this issue with our vendors and internally.
5:50 pm Mail delivery is back to normal. All mail that was delayed has been delivered. ITS will continue to monitor and troubleshoot the situation to identify the root cause.
