Experiential Learning Fellowship
Exciting news! I just got a letter from the Associate Dean of Arts & Sciences letting me know that I was awared an Experiential Learning Fellowship for the research I proposed to do while in South Africa. This is really great because now I can do some fabulous research for my senior project. I'm thrilled! Now my winter break will be spent planning for this project and getting ready to leave for SA.

Finals, Semester I, Junior Year
It has finally begun to sink in that I will be in South Africa in less than two months. All of my paperwork is taken care of, and I'm just waiting for a bit of mail from my program. I took care of all of the outstanding details with Case this afternoon at the mandatory JYA meeting. I have a lot of remaining questions and other issues to deal with, and it's getting a little scary, but I am immensely excited. I am now on a search for practical advice about living in South Africa. In the mean time, though, I just have to get through final exams.
