Ralph Peters (NY Post) laments on the hypocrisy of the left when it comes to free speech

Good point on this:

"Free speech is great, as long as it's their free speech (or extreme pornography). But dissenting views must be censored. The more effective the opponent, the more important it is to shut him down."

* * * * *

Of course, either side can reason that the other is at fault. All in the name of "free speech" obviously.

Ugh...rampant generalizations based on the actions of one reporter hardly make a case against the "left."

While he criticizes someone for engaging in the Reductio ad Hitlerum fallacy, the remainder of his article, he makes the exact same mistake.

As someone on the left, I totally support anyone's right to free speech, even if it is the blog equivalent of trolling.

I seen my share of articles where one side of the political spectrum has been out-trolled by the other side. Both the left and right are hardly blameless in this area.

If someone criticizes McCain, then that person is labeled as a tree-loving socialist of the left. If someone criticizes Obama, then that person is called a racist, part of the military-industrial complex, in the purse strings of the oil giants.

It is even harder to try to play both sides. I have no problem listing something on the left-wing and something on the right-wing.

It is always hard enough to stake an opposite position on dailykos or redstate so why bother.
