What's wrong with the iPhone, from a Japanese perspective? Almost everything: the high monthly data plans that go with it, its paucity of features, the low-quality camera, the unfashionable design and the fact that it's not Japanese.

Probably the biggest problem with the iphone for the Japanese market is the fact that most communication is done via e-mail and not talking on the phone. It is much easier to type an e-mail on a normal phone than to use the touch screen of the iphone. However, it has started to gain popularity as people are realizing all the other things it can do.
